FERRARI F12TDF PAYS HOMAGE TO THE TOUR DE FRANCE, to view

Ferrari F12TDF revealed, limited edition of 799 units only

Imagine what more can the naturally aspirated 6.3 litre Ferrari F12 berlinetta pump out of the powerful V12 engine which churns 740 PS (544 kW; 730 hp)? I mean, well the F12Berlinetta is already a monster, I remember Jeremy Clarkson saying “you might end up on a telephone post if the car is on the wrong hands”.

Ferrari has bred the F12berlinetta to be a track driven car, yet for daily driving. The latest news it that, Ferrari has given a performance boost to its F12berlinetta, which will be called as the F12tdf, the “tdf” stands for “Tour de France”. OMG! The monster just got beefier! Note, just 799 will be built.

The name F12TDF signifies the tribute to the “tour de france”. The endurance road race dominated by the prancing horse 65 years ago, with the 1956 250 gt berlinetta winning four consecutive editions of the legendary race.

Under the hood is the space which creates the technical enchantment, with the RPM meter hitting 8500 limit, madness is redefined from the 730HP to 769 at 8500 rpm. The additional 39HP advances the monster to even powerful beast, with torque increasing from 509 to 520 lb-ft. With F1 automated manual gearbox the upshifts 30 percent faster and the downshifts are 40 percent faster with the limited.

Ferrari has done every bit to the bodywork to have the F12TDF comply lightweight and aerodynamically efficient. Certainly with the modifications, the TdF yields 87 % more downforce than the stock Berlinetta and also abridged 240 pounds from the car.

As a result, the Ferrari F12TDF does 0-60 km/h in just 2.9 seconds, which the stock does in 3.1 seconds. Hit the gas madly and the beast does 0-200km/h in 7.9 seconds. Ferrari has got TDF seriously under the radar of the guns who look awaited! TA-DA
