Hyundai Elite i20 sits in a segment that is one of the highly in demand and bestselling categories of Indian auto market, the premium hatchback segment. The South Korean auto manufacturer has seen pretty good success with this car in domestic market and now takes it to next level by introducing the facelift version of this premium hatchback. This facelifted model is showcased at the 2018 New Delhi Auto Expo before commercial launch later this month.

It bears same sharp character lines as the current model, turn indicator integrated ORVMs, blackened glass area. The C pillar comes with a thick appearance and completely blackened out giving the car a floating roof pattern and it is turned into glossy finish now. Moving to the back, it gets roof spoiler, revised and all-LED taillights along with an updated bumper.

So far, Hyundai Elite i20 will come with a much more stylish look compared to the present model. Inside the cabin, there is a new larger touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Alongside that, there is multifunction steering wheel, analog and digital display consisting instrument cluster. Seats and upholstery receives upmarket quality materials. However, space inside the cabin remains same as the outgoing model.

This car retains the same engine and powertrain options as the outgoing model however 1.4L petrol AT is being replaced by 1.2L CVT. Power and torque output too will be same as now, but fuel efficiency of these engines improved in the facelifted version. Speaking about pricing, the Elite i20 facelift gets a marginal price hike of Rs. 6000 premium over the outgoing model.

Tata Tiago JTP

Tata Motors has seen immense success with its Tiago hatchback since its arrival in the country. A sportier version of this car has been at the centre of discussion from the very beginning and the Tiago JTP is now unveiled at the 2018 New Delhi Auto Expo. This car certainly add zing to the Tata Motors’s product portfolio and it will lock horns with rival like Maruti Suzuki Baleno RS upon arrival.

Speaking about the design of Tata Tiago Sports, it appear with a styling that will make this car look like sporting several accessories over the standard hatchback. The car gets the same headlamps as the regular model but now they are smoked, the black front grille with honeycomb mesh is now glossy and a thick matte black cladding at front bumper adds a sporty character to the car. The fog lamps will come highlighted by glossy black cladding.

Moving to the side profile, the Tiago Sports arrives featuring sporty and stylish 15 inch diamond cut alloy wheels, black cladding, scuff plate, sporty body decals and vents on fendor with JTP badging on it. Apart from that, there will turn indicator integrated red painted ORVMs, black glass area, sporty looking all black roof. At the back, there is integrated black roof spoiler, compact taillights and a chunky bumper. So far, Tata Motors won’t leave any chance in making this car attractive from every angle.

Inside the cabin, Tata Tiago JTP features an all-black colour theme adding style with three-spoke multifunction steering wheel, analog and digital display consisting dual-pod instrument cluster and a touchscreen infotainment system at centre console. Leather Seat and upholstery comes wearing improved quality materials. In terms of space and comfort, it arrives similar as the standard hatchback.

2018 Honda Amaze

Despite the Maruti Suzuki Dzire ruling compact sedan segment of Indian car market, Honda Amaze has been able to maintain a sustainable sales figure. The Japanese auto major introduced a facelift that upped the style of the car and now the brand is unveiled the all-new Amaze. 2018 Honda Amaze made its global debut at the 2018 Delhi Auto Expo. The car is now set to come in an all new avatar and the Indo-Japanese auto manufacturer launches the new generation Swift in the country at the Auto Expo 2018. The new version of the popular hatchback priced from 4.99 Lakh and is been showcased at the 2018 New Delhi Auto Expo as the biennial event is the biggest auto show of the country.

Compared to the current Maruti Suzuki Swift, the new generation model looks very different, more stylish and more upmarket as well. An interesting fact is that, this SUV will be underpinned by the Land Rover Discovery Sport’s L550 architecture. Tata Tigor is one of the affordable subcompact sedans you can buy currently in India with good amount of features involved. Despite its stylish nature, it could not get the sales numbers it intended to but there is an upcoming sporty version which could alter its proceedings.

It has been displayed at the ongoing 2018 Auto Expo in Greater Noida and is one the main attractions at the brand’s pavilion. It has been developed jointly by Tata Motors and Coimbatore-based Jayem Automotives. The Tigor JTP will be available in the domestic market for buyers soon along with the Tiago JTP. It also pays tribute to the circuit in which it was developed, the Kari Motor Speedway.

Tata Tigor JTP will likely be priced at around Rs. 20,000 – Rs. 30,000 premium over the standard sedan. On the powertrain front, the regular 1.2-litre petrol engine that is capable of kicking out 84 bhp of peak power at 6,000 rpm and 114 Nm of peak torque at 3,500 rpm is strapped with a turbocharger to boost its performance to 110 hp and 150 Nm.

To achieve the additional power and torque, Tata has made modifications to the intake and exhaust. As for the proportions, it measures the same as the regular Tigor with 3,992 mm length, 1,677 mm width, 1,537 mm height and has a wheelbase of 2,450 mm.

The suspension has been retuned and ride height lowered slightly to help in sporty handling. To make it stand apart from the regular range, Tata has made sporty changes to the exterior giving more aggressiveness to the overall design.

Honda introduced the fifth gen CR-V for America last year and it has been displayed at the ongoing Auto Expo. It is one of the three upcoming cars showcased including the Civic and new generation Amaze. It has been confirmed to launch on Indian shores in the 2018-19 financial year as well. The CR-V is currently sold in over 160 countries and the Japanese brand says over 9.4 million vehicles are retailed in total.

As for the engine lineup, the brand new premium SUV could use a 2.4-litre i-VTEC petrol engine, mated to a CVT automatic transmission, making 190 hp. It is expected to be accompanied by the new 1.6-litre i-DTEC diesel motor which generates 158 hp at 4,000 rpm and 350 Nm peak torque. It could be connected to a brand new ZF nine-speed automatic.

The South Korean automaker will initially launch three models that include the Sportage SUV which has been already spied on the roads of the country. This SUV is showcased at 2018 New Delhi Auto Expo. Upon its launch, the car will lock horns with tough rival like Mahindra XUV500.

India is one of the fastest growing cars markets in the world and seeing the increasing demands for cars Kia is hoping for good fortune here. Sportage comes with dual beam projector headlamps, signature Kia front grille with chrome trim. The front bumper looks muscular and the round shaped fog lamps also come with chrome trim around them.

The hood also features sharp character lines. At the side profile, the turn indicator integrated ORVM, large and bold alloy wheels, chrome finished door handles, roof rails and side body cladding. The rear fascia of the Kia Sportage gets wraparound wide taillights, a sleek reflector running between the two taillamps, integrated roof spoiler, skid plate and twin round exhausts.

The design of the Sportage looks very attractive, muscular and sporty from every angle. As Hyundai is known for making some spectacular vehicles, its subsidiary Kia also follows same route. kia picantoSouth Korean automaker and Hyundai subsidiary Kia’s third model in the Indian market is going to be the Picanto hatchback. The sporty looking hatchback has got a new look recently. This car is also displayed at the 2018 New Delhi Auto Expo. It dons a front fascia that is very similar to the new Rio.

The demands for upmarket hatchbacks have been rising in the country and the Picanto is expected to get positive response from the customers. The Kia Picanto sports a sporty looking front profile that incorporates a signature Kia grille with chrome embellishment. The stylish LED projector headlamps are complemented by the LED daytime running lights.

These engines are claimed to be fuel efficient. In the Indian market, the Picanto could share some components with the Grand i10.
