While the current entry-level hatchback from Hyundai is underpinned by the low-cost PA platform, the new Hyundai Santro will be based on an improved version of the old i10’s HA platform. This will lead to higher safety and better dynamics.

Even the 1.1-litre petrol engine for the new Hyundai Santro comes from the old i10 but if gets updated to offer a slightly higher fuel efficiency, better performance figures, and lower emissions.

The Maruti Wagon R rival will become the first Hyundai to offer an optional AMT. As AMTs are mostly as efficient as their manual counterparts, even the mileage figures of both the versions remain the same.
