1. Engine Specs with Mileage
The new-gen Santro will be powered by an updated 1.1-litre four-cylinder petrol engine that will output a maximum power of 69 PS and 99 Nm.
This 1.1-litre petrol engine for the new Hyundai Santro comes from the old i10 but if gets updated to offer a slightly higher fuel efficiency, better performance figures, and lower emissions. The motor will offer an ARAI-claimed mileage of 20.3 kmpl.
2. AMT with same mileage
The Maruti Wagon R rival will become the first Hyundai to offer an optional AMT. As AMTs are mostly as efficient as their manual counterparts, even the mileage figures of both the versions remain the same. Hence, both the models will have a mileage of 20.3 kmpl.
3. 7″ Touchscreen apple carplay with android auto
Another premium feature that the top-end trim of the new Hyundai Santro will offer is a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment unit with Apple Carplay and Android Auto. Again, this is a feature that isn’t available on the Maruti Wagon R or the Renault Kwid and will give the Santro an upper edge over its direct rivals.

The interior of the new Hyundai Santro will be roomy with lot of headroom. The rear-seat will have enough space to seat three occupants in reasonable comfort. We have learnt that the boot will have a luggage carrying capacity of 238-litres, which, in our opinion, is slightly on the lower side. To put things in perspective, the Renault Kwid offers a bootspace of 300-litres. In terms of dimensions, the new Hyundai Santro will be 3,610 mm long, 1,645 mm wide, and 1,560 mm tall. It will have a wheelbase of 2,400 mm.
7. 3 years/1 lakh kilometres warranty
Prices of the new Hyundai Santro will start from Rs 3.49 lakh. It will not only rival the Maruti Wagon R but will also compete with the Maruti Celerio, Renault Kwid 1.0, and Tata Tiago. It will replace the Eon. The new car will be sold with a 3-years/1 lakh kms standard warranty.
8. Rear AC Vents
The top-end variant of the new Hyundai Santro will offer features like multifunction steering wheel, push button start/stop, 7-inch infotainment unit that supports Android Auto and Apple Carplay, and dual front airbags. Moreover, it will even offer rear AC vents, which is a feature that isn’t available on any other model in the entry-level segment. This will give the new Santro an edge over its immediate rivals.
9. Standard ABS and Driver’s Airbag
Similar to the variant lineup of the Hyundai Grand i10 and the Hyundai Elite i20, the new Hyundai Santro will be available in five trim levels – Era, Magna, Sportz, Sportz (O) and Asta.
In order to be compliant with the new safety norms, all the variants of the new Hyundai Santro will feature a driver’s side airbag, ABS, reverse parking sensors, speed alert warning, and seatbelt reminder for the front occupants.
