Ahead of the facelifted i3’s debut in September, BMW has introduced the i3 Carbon Edition exclusive for Netherlands

The existing BMW i3 hatchback for the international markets will get an updated version soon but ahead of its arrival there is a new special variant in town. Exclusive for the customers in Netherlands, the new Carbon Edition this time around gets a dark exterior along with changes to the interior. The German manufacturer has painted the outside in Carbon Black featuring blue tint combined with Frozen Gray metallic accents to enhance its richness from the standard model.

The BMW i3 Carbon Edition is wrapped in a large 20-inch alloy wheels that are powder coated. It comes adorned with LED headlamps, power adjustable sunroof and tinted windows to go in with the dark theme. On the inside, the special version gets leather seat upholstery to elevate its appeal further while the premium Harman Kardon HiFi sound system replaces the regular unit.

The i3 hatchback is indeed small in size but the parking assistance package may get quite useful for customers during bunched up parking scenarios. The Driving Assistant Plus and an alarm are also included in the limited run model for safer driving. Additionally, the BMW i3 Carbon Edition also gains the iPerformance package along with the acoustic pedestrian protection system.

As for the pricing, this limited edition model comes at €53,731 (Rs. 37.82 lakh) or €699 per month based on operational lease for four years with a limit of 15,000 km per year. BMW has not officially divulged how many of the new Carbon Black painted model will be sold or whether it will be introduced in other parts of Europe.

However, on a larger scale, BMW is preparing yet another EV assault with the facelifted i3 that is likely to debut at the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show in September. With more juice from the engine and restyled boy work, it is predicted to enter global markets by the end of this year or in the early months of 2018.
