Exclusive: Bajaj Discover 150 S Discontinued, Plucked Of The Website

Discover 150 S Discontinued

Bajaj Discover 150 S seems to be discontinued as most sold model of the 150 were of the fairing variant

Recently we told you that the Bajaj Discover 125 2-Valve has been launched. The 2-valve 125cc makes a come back in its old body shape to target customers of the urban market. We think this has been done because the cheaper Discover 150 S has been discontinued in India as the sales of the model did not pick up as expected. This is what seems at the moment. The Bajaj Discover 150 S has been taken of the website and now there are only two 100cc, two 125cc and one 150cc variant of the Discover series shown on the website.

Bajaj Discover 150S came with a price tag of around Rs. 51,000/- meanwhile the Discover 150F came with price tag of around Rs. 58,000/- ex showroom Mumbai. The Discover 150S could have made a impact on the Discover 125 sales and hence Discover 150 was sold mostly in the fairing avatar.

Both bikes came with disc brakes but the Discover 150S came with drum on both ends as an option. The price difference from the drum to disc on the was a mere Rs. 3000/-. Other changes on the bike included a different and simple unit of the instrument cluster instead of the digital one seen on the fairing variant of the Discover 150.

Majority of the 150 Discovers sold were the Fairing variant, Hence the S has been discontinued!

Discover 150 engines is a fresh unit which was heavily worked upon to make smoother, faster and more economical while making it perform well and give maximum reliability at the same time. Bajaj had achieved that part as the engine was one of the very best air-cooled Bajaj made till date.

14.3 PS of power and healthy torque along with intense power to weight ratio and short gearing made bonkus low to mid-end torque which made mid-range and city driveability in higher gears a doodle. Expect Bajaj to make an announcement soon on this issue and continue to launch more commuter oriented motorcycles this year.
