2019 Toyota Camry comes with completely refreshed exterior and an updated powertrain and equipment list; launching on January 18
Toyota Kirloskar Motor is all set to launch the new generation Camry sedan in the domestic market on January 18. Based on a new TNGA-K platform with increased dimensions, it is a big departure from the outgoing model in terms of interior space, fuel efficiency and riding comfort. The current 2.5-litre four-cylinder Atkinson cycle petrol engine has seen performance increase by 18 hp. It now produces 176 hp and 221 Nm, and is connected to a 88 kW electric motor for a combined power output of 208 hp. Toyota says it will produce cleaner emission even in low rpm or cold temperature.
It will have claimed fuel economy of 23.27 kmpl. The 2019 Camry is longer, wider and has 50 mm extended wheelbase compared to the outgoing model courtesy of the lighter TNGA-K platform. The new generation Toyota Camry offers additional boot volume of 10 litres compared to the outgoing model at 597 litres.

2019 Toyota Camry Safety Features
Toyota offers an assortment of active safety features including ABS with EBD, Brake Assist, Vehicle Stability Control, Traction Control System, Hill Start Assist and Park Assist with back guide monitoring, clearance and back sonar. The passive safety features include nine airbags. The Camry gets high strength steel central tunnel for occupant protection.
2019 Toyota Camry Exterior Changes
In the new-gen Camry, the headlamps have been more slimmer and stretched back with a prominent V-shaped element housing the traditional Toyota badge. With several creases and enhanced character lines, the premium sedan has become more appealing than ever while running on newly designed multi-spoke wheels.
The grille section with horizontal slats is the biggest highlight that differentiates the new model from the old by a big margin. The rear end is compact but does not have huge changes as in the front fascia.

The new-gen Toyota Camry will be offered in seven colour choices namely Attitude Black, Graphite, Burning Black, Silver, Phantom Brown, Pearl White Premium and Red Mica.
2019 Toyota Camry Interior and Features
Complementing the heavily updated exterior is the cabin features a seven-inch touchscreen infotainment system, instrument cluster with large seven-inch display and HUD of 10 inches in size along with other comfort and convenient features.
Main equipment includes 9-speaker JBL Dolby audio system comprising of 26.5 cm wide sub-woofer at the trunk with Clari-Fi technology; remote key with memory features for driver seat position, ORVMs and steering column; wireless Qi charging, 12 V USB charger, dual USB ports, triple-zone Nanoe air conditioner, rear armrest with capacitive touchscreen, leather-wrapped 40 mm tilt and 60 mm telescopic steering wheel with button control for audio, calls and cruise control.
The eight-gen Camry has enhanced seating comfort ensuring less fatigue driving position. The ten-way power adjustable driver (with memory) and passenger seat with lumbar support has increased sliding range by 20 mm. Another interesting feature is the moonroof with that can be tilted and slid inside, and the auto guide control activated automatically in Eco mode for longer coasting with less fuel consumption. It helps in decelerating slowly to save fuel.
Due to the lower centre of gravity, the Camry sees big improvement in dynamics and the front and rear passengers sit 22 mm and 30 mm lower respectively compared to the outgoing model. The new Camry comes with 5.7 m turning radius and new rack-mounted Electronic Power Steering helping the improved “organ-type” accelerator pedal with precise control. Toyota says the suspension is brand new as well with the use of MacPherson front struts and double wishbone rear.
