Suzuki officially introduced premium Ecstar lubricants last year in India for bikes. In May, Maruti Suzuki launched Estar lubricants for four wheelers and it was available only at premium Nexa workshops. The Indo-Japanese manufacturer today announced that Ecstar lubricants will be available at Maruti Suzuki Arena network also.
The company also introduced a new range of engine oil 0W16 and it is developed for Maruti Suzuki products. This engine oil reduces friction on components thus reducing wear and tear along with improving fuel efficiency. The manufacturer also claims that new engine oil will reduce CO2 emission also.
The advantages of using Ecstar engine for Maruti Suzuki products is that it will obviously reduce friction, protect various engine components, engine will be more clean and performance will improve. Before introducing engine oil to the market, it goes through 20 stringent tests with over 8,000 hours at the engine level and 1,60,000 kms of road testing.
Currently Ecstar products include engine oils, coolants, injector cleaner, automatic transmission oil, car care products and screen wash. The Japanese brand will introduce more products from global range soon in India. The products for Ecstar brand are locally sourced from suppliers and they undergo stringent quality tests to make sure quality is top notch.
The company is going to charge premium pricing for this engine oil and it will vary from Rs. 300 – Rs. 3000 per litre. But customers won’t be able to notice it as these engine oils are used in authorized Maruti Suzuki work shops and the Indo-Japanese manufacturer will get more profit from Ecstar lubricant.
Most of the manufacturers earn money from service of cars and Maruti Suzuki has more than 50 percent of market share, so most of its cars will run on Ecstar engine oil and it will help them to get significant advantage over current companies. Suzuki Motor Corporation first introduced Ecstar brand in Japan in 1984, and in 2015, they expanded Ecstar as a global brand.
