Ducati SuperSport S competes with rivals like Suzuki GSX-S1000F and Kawasaki Ninja 1000; gets power from a 937cc L-twin Desmodromic engine
Ducati has launched a new colour variant of the SuperSport S in India at a price tag of Rs. 13.55 lakh (ex-showroom, India). The bike is priced Rs. 21,000 premium over the red painted model. It competes with rivals like Suzuki GSX-S1000F and Kawasaki Ninja 1000 in its category. Considering the fact that demands for premium bikes are increasing in India, Ducati is expecting to see sales improvement for the SuperSport S thanks to the introduction of the new colour variant.
Speaking about the Ducati SuperSport S, it is the premium version of the regular SuperSport that was launched in September 2017 at a price tag of Rs. 12.08 lakh. The Star White Silk variant of the Ducati SuperSport comes wearing a completely white paint scheme combined with the Red trims at wheel rims and frame.

Thanks to the addition of the new colour variant, the high end premium bike becomes much more appealing. However, apart from the new colour, no other changes have been made to this model. It draws energy from the same engine that works in Ducati Multistrada 950 and Hypermotard 939.
This 937 cc L-twin liquid-cooled, Desmodromic engine comes churning out 113 PS of peak power at 9,000 rpm and 96.7 Nm of peak torque at 6,500 rpm. Transmission duty is done by a 6-speed gearbox with slipper clutch. The bike comes with Ducati Quick Shift (DQS) technology as standard.

For braking duty, the 210 kg weighing sportsbike relies on twin 320 mm front disc brakes with radial Brembo monobloc calipers at the front and rear gets a single 245 mm disc brake with dual piston calipers. The disc brakes come combined with dual channel ABS for enhanced safety.
Speaking about the bike’s suspension set up, it gets 48 mm Ohlins TiN front forks and Ohlins monoshock absorber at rear with integrated gas cartridge. Both the front and rear suspensions are multi-step adjustable.
