Ducati Scrambler Cafe Racer shares underpinnings with the standard Scrambler and gets several cosmetic upgrades
Ducati’s India division has introduced the Scrambler Cafe Racer for the domestic market today at a price of Rs. 9.32 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). As the name suggests, it is the Cafe Racer styled version of the regular Scrambler and features several exterior upgrades. With similar underpinnings as the standard Scrambler, the Cafe Racer comes equipped with the same engine.
The 803 cc L-twin engine is good enough to pump out a maximum power output of 73 bhp at 8,250 rpm and peak torque of 67 Nm at 5,750 rpm. With the new entrant, the Scrambler range in India has been extended to four variants including the Scrambler Classic, the recently launched Scrambler Desert Sled and Scrambler Icon underlining the growing trend among premium customers.

According to Ducati India’s Managing Director, Sergi Canovas Garriga, the Scrambler Cafe Racer is an epitome of free spirit and is “icon of style for enthusiasts”. In a bid to bring the global cultural phenomenon to India, the modern Cafe Racer adopts design from its original ancestors of the 1960s. There have been several cosmetic modifications that would differentiate it from the standard Scrambler.
For instance, the clip-on handlebars will allow for sporty ride along with black anodized cover, Termignoni dual pipe exhaust system, bar end mirrors, rear seat cowl for the pillion, etc. The Brembo braking setup with radial-type front brake pump gets Bosch 9.1 MP ABS (Anti-lock Braking System) and pressure sensor while the 17-inch cast aluminium wheels are wrapped around by Pirelli Diablo Rosso II tyres.

The Italian manufacturer will be providing a slew of accessories and apparel to emphasise the new variant in the lineup. It is sold in a single colour option namely the Black Coffee with gold coloured wheels and blackened frame.
