Ducati Scrambler 1100 comes with the ride-by-wire throttle and three driving modes – Active, Journey and City
Ducati officially launched new Scrambler 1100 in India in three variants – Base Scrambler 1100, Special and Sport. The new Ducati Scrambler 1100 made its global debut at EICMA last year and the flagship Scrambler model took inspiration from 1970’s bikes. The Italian manufacturer is also celebrating its third year in India.
The Ducati Scrambler 1100 is powered by new 1079 cc, V-twin, air-cooled engine producing 85 bhp of power at 7,600 rpm and 88 Nm of torque at 4,750 rpm. According to Ducati, 90 per cent of torque is available between 3,900 rpm and 7,200 rpm. This engine is mated to a 6-speed transmission and the engine is Euro IV compliant.
The Ducati Scrambler 1100 comes with a ride-by-wire throttle and three driving modes – Active, Journey and City. The Active mode gives a maximum power of 85 bhp and throttle response will be eager. The Journey mode also gets maximum 85 bhp, but power delivery will be linear. In City mode, power output will be reduced to 75 bhp.
The braking power comes from Brembo 320 twin discs at front and 245 mm disc at rear. The Ducati Scrambler 1100 comes with lots of safety features like Bosch cornering ABS system, four-level traction control, adjustable brake lever and clutch. Ducati has given fully digital instrument cluster for Scrambler 1100, which took inspiration from retro bikes.
The Sport variant of the Ducati Scrambler 1100 comes with 48 mm upside down forks at the front and mono suspension at the rear from Ohlins, which is tuned towards handling and aluminium wheels. The seating position is low at 810 mm from the ground and dry weight is just 189 kgs. The Scrambler 1100 comes with 15 litres of fuel tank.
Ducati is offering two colour options with the base Scrambler 1100 – Yellow and Shining Black colour, but Special is available only with custom Grey with Yellow accents and Sport in Viper Black colour. The company has officially opened bookings and deliveries will begin next month. The base Ducati Scrambler 1100 is priced at Rs. 10.91 lakh, Special at Rs. 11.12 lakh and Sport at Rs. 11.42 lakh (all prices, ex-showroom Delhi).
