The Ducati 959 Panigale Corse Edition is not just about cosmetic updates; will be available starting next year
Exotic Italian bike maker Ducati has just took the wraps off the Corse edition of its 959 Panigale sportsbike. The said special edition model is more than just a cosmetic update and brings with it a lot of technical benefits as well.
To start off with, needless to say, the Ducati 959 Panigale Corse Edition comes drenched in an impressive dual tone paint scheme of red and white. The Ducati 959 Panigale Corse edition has been assisted with 43mm NIX30 Ohlins inverted forks up front.
On the rear, the suspension duties are taken care of with the help of Ohlins TTX46 monoshock. Another addition to the motorcycle is a fully adjustable electronic steering damper. Engineers at Ducati have also kept in mind the significance of weight loss. For this purpose, the bike has been fitted with a lightweight lithium ion racing battery.
Another special highlight of the Ducati 959 Panigale Corse edition is the Akrapovic shotgun exhaust system that comes coupled with MotoGP style gauze. Powering the motorcycle is the same 959cc, L-twin engine that runs the standard 959.
The motor is good for churning out a maximum power output of 155 bhp along with a peak torque of 105 Nm. Power is sent to the rear wheel via a six-speed transmission system.
The braking to the Ducati 959 Panigale Corse edition is taken care of by twin 320mm disc brakes upfront along with a single 245mm disc brake at the rear. An Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS) comes standard to offer safe and effective braking.
The motorcycle rides on 120/70-ZR17 front and 180/60-ZR17 rear Pirelli Diablo Rosso Corsa tyres that come mounted over stylish alloy wheels. The bike has been assisted with a 17 litre fuel tank. The Corse edition has overall body dimensions of 2056mm x 810mm x 1115mm (LxWxH).
Expect the Ducati 959 Panigale Corse edition to be available at the dealerships globally at a price of £15,895 starting next year. It cannot be said at the moment whether Ducati chooses to bring this motorcycle to Indian shores or not!
