The spied dual-tone Ford EcoSport could be an upcoming special edition with Mars Red paint scheme, white shades and black racing stripes
Ford India was expected to launch a heavily facelifted version of its EcoSport compact SUV earlier this year but the American automaker chose to go with a minor revision instead with slight updates. Ever since the new EcoSport debuted on global scenes, its entry into India has highly been anticipated considering the popularity of the SUV.
Sticking with the US-spec model in terms of exterior appearance and with a spare wheel at the back, the facelift could tighten the competition in the sub-four metre compact SUV segment where the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza has become a runaway success since it went on sale early last year.

The launch of the updated EcoSport is largely expected to happen in the closing quarter of the year or during festive season when people will show more interest in buying cars. However, a recent post emerged on IAB showed a possible slight twist in the tale. Ahead of the facelift’s introduction, the existing EcoSport could get a new variant in the form of new dual-tone colour scheme.
A set of spy pictures of the dual-tone model doing test rounds in India has emerged online. It denotes the presence of a Mars Red paint scheme with white shades around the pillars and the roof. For added sportiness, the bonnet is painted with black racing stripes in the middle. Moreover, the Outside Rear View Mirrors are body coloured while the 16-inch alloy wheels have been borrowed from the standard EcoSport.

Two-tone paint jobs are trendy these days and Ford might capitalise on that by offering some new options or just put them on sale on the genuine accessories list or it could possibly be a limited run model. Ford would be doing this to sell the remaining stocks of the current EcoSport before an new version comes in as replacement.
