Royal Enfield Pegasus Classic 500 owners were disappointed after the similar looking 350 Signals editions was launched at much cheaper price
Plenty of Royal Enfield Pegasus 500 owner was disappointed after the launch of RE Classic 350 Signals edition which carried more features and the same kind of paint options. While the 500 Pegasus were priced well above the standard Classic 500 prices.
The 350 Signals edition which carried features like the special emblem and ABS carried a much lower price tag which was enough to add fuel to all the conflict. As a medium to show their disappointment few of the angry Pegasus owners dumped their motorcycles in the garbage while some even refused to take the delivery.
The Pegasus owners claimed that the bike lost its exclusivity because the much less expensive 350 Signals carried more features and was carried a much lower price tag at the same time. When people protested RE tried to solve the matter by agreeing to buy back the Pegasus models from their respective owners and refunding the entire amount.
Some dealers even offered the owners of the Pegasus Classic 500 to return their motorcycle to the company dealerships and pick any other motorcycle instead of their choice including the soon to be launched 650 twins which are expected to launch on November 14th in India. However, they will have to pay the difference in price.
Lastly, the owners were also given a choice of an additional warranty period of 1 year along with 2 extra free servicing and a helmet. Royal Enfield Pegasus Classic 500 was launched in July 2018 it was a special edition model which was limited to just 1000 units worldwide. Only 250 units of the Pegasus Classic 500 were allotted for India and priced at 2.17 Lakh each.
The motorcycle carried RE’s flying flea styling and takes its styling inspiration from World War II machines.
The choice of picking up any motorcycle of their choice including the 650 twins is actually a good option for the unsatisfied Pegasus Classic 500 owners for sure and we are pretty sure most of them will actually go for this particular option only.
