2018 MY Hyundai Santro comes with free insurance worth Rs. 35,000 and it will be available across the country
Hyundai introduced the much awaited new Santro in October and the hatchback received a positive response with good sales. Some dealerships across the country are offering 2018 MY of Santro with free insurance, which is worth Rs. 35,000. This will make the hatchback even more attractive to prospective customers.
The Santro is facing stiff competition from models like the Tata Tiago as the company has recently introduced a new top-end variant with more features. Maruti also introduced the third generation of Wagon R last month and it also comes in the same price segment with similar features like the Santro.
The company sold 8000 units of Santro in January and the company has already received more than 50,000 bookings for the hatchback. The new Santro is based on the K1 platform and it is made from high strength steel as the hatchback need to meet the upcoming safety norms. Hyundai has given an evolutionary design theme with inspirations from Grand i10.
The front is dominated by the signature grille of Hyundai with swept-back headlamps and big fog lamps placed below it. The side gets a tall boy design and the company is not offering alloy wheels even in the top end variant. The tail lamps design is also new and it is available in five variants – D-Lite, Era, Magna, Sportz and Asta.
The interior also took some inspirations from the Grand i10 and the steering wheel is a three-spoke unit with audio controls in it. The Santro comes with segment first features like touch screen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, reverse camera with parking sensors, rear-AC vents, electronically controlled exterior mirrors and more.
The hatchback is also loaded with safety features like dual airbags, ABS with EBD, driver seat belt reminder and rear defogger. The Santro is powered by 1.1 petrol engine with 69 PS of power and 99 Nm of torque. This engine is mated to a 5-speed manual and AMT gearbox options. According to ARAI, the Santro returns 20.3 Km/l.
