Nissan India has gifted a Datsun RediGo Sport to Indian national women’s cricket team member Harmanpreet Kaur for her spectacular performance
Nissan India presents a Datsun RediGo to Indian women’s national team member Harmanpreet Kaur for her spectacular knock of 171 in semifinal of the ICC Women’s World Cup 2017 against Australia. The Japanese auto manufacturer has an eight year deal with the ICC to sponsor the global events of the world cricket governing body. Speaking about the gift to Harmanpreet, Nissan India’s managing director Arun Malhotra has said it is a proud moment to see the young talent like Harmanpreet rise.
This is not the first time Datsun RediGo has made its place in a sportsperson’s garage. Last year, the automaker gifted this small hatchback to Olympians PV Sindhu, Sakshi malik and Dipa Karmakar to congratulate them for their performance in Rio Olympics Games.
The Datsun RediGo is the latest model in India from the budget car brand and it received a 1.0-litre petrol engine just a few weeks ago. The hatchback with tallboy stance is now available in both 0.8-litre and 1.0-litre petrol engine options, like the Renault Kwid with which it shares the engines and platform as well.
The car competes with tough rivals like the Renault Kwid and Maruti Suzuki Alto K10 as well. Priced between Rs. 2.41 lakh and Rs. 3.64 lakh (ex-showroom, New Delhi), the Sport variant is available with a 0.8-litre engine. It features exciting exterior colour theme. For transmission duty it gets a manual gearbox and the power and torque outputs are also same as the regular model.
The Datsun RediGo wears a compact design that makes it an attractive model for the purpose of regular commuting in and around the city and the affordable pricing enhances its appeal further. It received positive response within short span after launch here and with the newly introduced 1.0-litre engine, Datsun hopes to see a sales boost for the RediGo.
