Customized Royal Enfield Thunderbird

The latest project of Puranam Designs is to modify a Royal Enfield to look like the iconic Harley Davidson Iron 883 but with some elements from stock RE also

Puranam Designs based in Delhi is known for their excellent craft in modifying bikes. They have already done several bikes for movie actors and famous personalities, which show how popular their work is.

A recent project of Puranam Designs is to modify a Royal Enfield to like iconic Harley Davidson Iron 883 but they want to maintain some elements of Royal Enfield also. The final product is named as Abdias and they took Thunderbird 350 as donor bike. The custom shop stripped out all stock body panels to begin the work.

The front gets new round headlamps, which is smaller than stock along with some changes for telescopic front suspension as it is mounted in a different position compared to stock Thunderbird. The custom shop has given single piece wide handlebar with mirrors placed on the end to get a macho look for Abdias.

Puranam Designs has given digital instrument cluster which is different as most of the modified bikes come with analog cluster. Abdias gets a new custom made fuel tank and it is similar to the original one on Iron 883. The foot rests are custom made for this bike along with new leather seat, which is positioned lower on the body.

The forward set foot pegs along with wider handle bar and lower seats gives a comfortable riding position. The rear fender design is similar to Iron 883 and they have given small indicators at rear but Abdias misses out on tail lamp and number plate. The front tyre is bigger compared to rear and tyres are wider for a muscular look.

The stock alloy wheels has been replaced by new one and the engine remains stock as 346 cc single cylinder unit puts out 19.8 bhp of power and 28 Nm of torque. This engine is mated to 5 speed gearbox and braking duties are handled by disc brakes at front and rear. The custom shop hasn’t given details about price.
