Tata Nexon was the most sold compact SUV in June 2023 with a total of 13,827 units as against 14,295 units with a YoY drop of 3 per cent
In the month of June 2023, Tata Motors’ Nexon finished on top of the compact SUV sales charts with a domestic tally of 13,827 units as against 14,295 units during the same period last year with a YoY negative volume growth of 3 per cent. However, it was not the most sold SUV in the country as Hyundai Creta took the crown.
The Hyundai Venue was the second most sold model in the segment with a total of 11,606 units. In comparison to the same period last year with 10,321 units, a YoY positive sales increase of 12 per cent was noted. The Tata Punch micro SUV finished in the third position with a total of 10,990 units against 10,414 units in June 2022 with a YoY growth of 6 per cent.
The Maruti Suzuki Brezza slotted in at fourth with the highest YoY sales growth within the top ten as a total of 10,578 units as against 4,404 units during the corresponding period in 2022 with a massive surge of 140 per cent. The Maruti Suzuki Fronx finished in the fifth position with a total of close to 8,000 units as it has impressed in its first months in the market.

The compact SUV coupe is sold exclusively through the Nexa dealerships and is based on the same platform as the Baleno. The five-seater is powered by a 1.2L NA petrol and a 1.0L turbo petrol engine, paired with manual and automatic transmissions. The Kia Sonet finished in the sixth position with a domestic tally of 7,722 units as against 7,455 units.
This led to a YoY sales growth of 4 per cent. The Mahindra XUV300 finished in the seventh position with a domestic total of 5,094 unit sales last month as against 4,754 units in June 2022 with an increase of 7 per cent on a YoY basis. The Nissan Magnite was the eighth most sold compact SUV in the country.
It recorded 2,552 units as against 3,331 units with a drop of 33 per cent while Renault Kiger ended up last with a total of 1,844 units against 3,411 units with a de-growth of 46 per cent.
