Chevrolet Onix Activ powered by 1.4 litre four cylinder flex fuel engine
American automaker Chevrolet has launched the Onix based crossover Onix Activ in Brazil. The car is based on the facelifted 2017 Chevrolet Onix. While Indian market is eagerly waiting for the Chevrolet Beat Activ soft roader, the launch of the Onix Activ shows how much importance the company is giving in the crossover segment. The automaker is also geared up to launch the facelifted Onix and Prisma.
The Chevrolet Onix Activ will take on the Hyundai HB20X. The car comes sporting sharp headlamps with darkened accents, LED daytime running lights, two part Chevrolet grille. The fog lamp enclosure gets black accents, and the front also sports a silver skid plate. At the side profile the car boasts 15 inch lightweight alloy wheels, sporty roof rails, side body cladding, metal finish side sills. The rear profile also comes fitted with wrap around taillamps, roof spoiler.
The car gets some updates inside the cabin as well. The cabin features ‘Jet Black’ and ‘Kalahari’ dual tone interior theme. The dashboard and doors get orange trims, which enhances the appeal of the car by delivering a contrast.
Among other features the Chevrolet Onix Activ features leather wrapped multifunction steering wheel, second generation touchscreen MyLink infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The Chevrolet Onix Activ draws power from a 1.4 litre four cylinder flex fuel engine, mated to a 6 speed manual and a 6 speed automatic gearbox as option. The engine churns out power output between 96.7 hp to 104.5 hp at 6,000 rpm.
The Chevrolet Onix Activ is equipped with several safety features like dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensor, reverse parking camera and TPMS. On the pricing front the manual version comes priced at R$57,190, equivalent to Rs. 11,72,392.64 and the automatic version is priced at R$64,540, equivalent to Rs. 13,23,067.34.
