In Chevrolet Auto Expo 2016 Lineup, along with 2 new concepts, Cruze facelift, Colorado pick-up truck, Corvette and Camaro sports cars will also be displayed
General Motors India has announced its carline for the forthcoming Delhi Auto Expo 2016 with new generation models, proven sports cars and concepts to endorse new DNA design. The motoring bonanza will be leveraged by the American manufacturer to showcase ‘true American Chevrolet experience’. On the first day opened for press, February 3rd, Chevrolet will be revealing two new concept models.
To compete in the vital segments of Indian vehicle market, Chevrolet will be displaying the updated Chevrolet Cruze sedan and the seven-seater Spin MPV which is confirmed to be launched sometime next year. The recently unveiled Chevrolet Trailblazer SUV will also be demonstrated on the brand’s Hall 5 pavilion at the India Expo Mart in Greater Noida.
These India-bound models will not only be manufactured for the Indian market but also shipped abroad. The Spin MPV slated for 2017 will be the second product launch, following the new Trailblazer last October, as part of GM’s plans to introduce ten new models by 2020 at the domestic playground with a huge investment of one billion dollars.
The Chevrolet Cruze facelift will have minor changes to front fascia with new chrome finished grille, LED Daytime Running Lights, revised integrated spoiler lip and additional equipment. On the inside, the dashboard remains unaltered but a new seven-inch MyLink touchscreen infotainment system with Apple iPhone/iPad Siri support will be carried over from the Trailblazer SUV.
The 2.0-litre turbocharged diesel unit capable of producing 166 PS maximum power and 360 Nm of peak torque mated to either a six-speed manual or an automatic gearbox is carried forward. GM will continue to offer safety features like ABS, dual front airbags and side airbags on the sedan. It will go up against usual rivals like the D-segment leading Toyota Corolla Altis, Skoda Octavia, Hyundai Elantra and Renault Fluence.
The American car maker’s new generation flagship sportscar, the Corvette, and the awe-inspiring Camaro model will be exhibited at the Chevrolet Pavilion in the Auto Expo. The masculine Colorado pick-up truck will seek the bragging rights at the motor show whilst interaction with the crowd is to be fulfilled by Colorado Co-driver and Passabilities game made developed in collaboration with global football partner Manchester United FC.
