2017 Geneva Motor Show will see as much as 120 products being showcased and here we list our top 30 picks you would want to know

The Geneva International Motor Show is a highly reputed event in the world for automobile manufacturers to showcase their latest creations whether production road cars or future concepts. The 87th edition vows to be just as good as the previous and is one of the most glamorous motoring fests as well. Over 100 products will be on display and that number is bigger than combined reveals at LA, Detroit and Chicago shows.

From mid-life refreshes to brand new products, the annual Geneva Motor Show at the Geneva Palexpo convention centre this year is opening for media from today and will continue till 19th March. There will be something for all kind of enthusiasts from exotic hypercars to mainstream sedans and SUVs/crossovers.

A complete mix of lineup includes new generation Suzuki Swift, Mercedes-AMG four-door sports coupe, Mahindra-owned Pininfarina’s design studies, new Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross, Ford Fiesta, Lamborghini Aventador S, Range Rover Velar, Porsche Panamera Sport Turismo and much more. Honda Civic Type R


Honda Civic Type R has been making headlines for last couple of months, and the production model is ready to hit the showfloor at Geneva. It follows the concept model very closely and appears very aggressive indeed. Sharp LED headlamps, larger air intake, crisp character lines, LED taillights are there to enhance its visual appeal. Power a 306 hp 2.0L VTEC turbo petrol engine.

Jeep Compass


Jeep Compass will be the next global SUV from the brand in the Indian market and it will be on display at Geneva. The car comes bearing signature Jeep styling with the iconic vertically slated front grille, masculine stance. As jeep claims, it comes with best-in-class off-roading capability, like its other siblings bearing the brand’s legacy.

2017 Skoda Octavia


The facelifted Skoda Octavia has been designed to draw attention at the very first glimpse. The sharp bodywork inspired by Bohemian glass crystal combined with features like full LED headlamps with adaptive function. New features have been introduced to the cabin to enhance the premiumness along with new safety features. Apart from that, fresh powertrain options have been introduced to the car as well.

Maruti Suzuki Swift


The new-generation Swift has been making buzz in the town for last couple of months, and the car is ready for its grand debut at Geneva. It comes incorporating a completely new design compared to its predecessor. A new grille, new headlamps, LED daytime running lights, new bumper, fresh styling at the side profile enhances its appeal. Interior too is coming more premium than the predecessor.

Tata Tamo


Tamo is going to be the next big surprise from the Tata Motors, unveiling at Geneva. A two-seater sportscar from the mass-market car producer is ready to grab attention of the world. This model will be produced as a global market-spec one and it will use composite plastic and aluminum to build the car. A 180 hp 1.2-litre turbocharged engine will be powering the car.

Skoda Octavia RS


Ready to be displayed at Geneva show, the Skoda Octavia RS is certainly one car you are bound to admire. Added to the beauty of the sedan are the performance-spec bodywork, enhanced aerodynamic efficiency and sportiness reflected through the design. Powering the car is a 245 hp 2.0-liter turbo-four engine, and the car can reach 0-100 kmph in 6.6 seconds.

2018 Volvo XC60


Volvo is ready to roll out the all-new XC60 with a design in line with the XC90. It will appear with a new front fascia sporting new design Thor’s Hammer LED headlamps, new front grille and fresh bumper. The SUV will come muscular and bolder than the previous one. It will be the fourth model from the Swedish brand to come wearing Scalable Premium Architecture (SPA) design language.

Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace


The Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace is the long-wheelbase version of the Tiguan SUV. Thanks to the 215 mm longer body and 109 mm longer wheelbase, this SUV offers more space to the occupants and accommodate a 7-seater layout. Like the Tiguan it carries sharp and stylish design and a feature-packed premium interior.

2018 Ford Fiesta ST


Ford Fiesta ST has achieved the feat to become one of the most popular and bestselling hot hatch of the world and the 2018 version of the car is here debuting at Geneva. The hot hatch comes incorporating several restyling jobs focusing on performance enhancement. It gets a new 1.5-litre EcoBoost petrol engine kicking out 197 hp of power and 0.2 second faster than before.

2017 Ford Fiesta

Audi Q8 is the next big thing from the German luxury automaker, and a concept model of the performance-spec version of this SUV is ready to be showcased at the Geneva show. It gets a very aggressive design, thanks to the large front grille, sleek and sharp LED headlamps. It will come featuring a premium cabin also. Power source for the SUV would be a S8 Plus sourced 605 hp generating 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine.

Volkswagen Compact SUV


The Volkswagen Polo-based compact SUV inspired by the T-Cross Breeze concept is breaking cover at Geneva show. It comes with a very stylish approach and the design language is very much global. It gets sleek LED headlamps, a sporty front grille, large air intake, skid plate, etc. Along with an up-market interior, it will be offered with a range of engine options including both petrol and diesel units.

Toyota i-TRIL Autonomous Concept


Toyota will showcase a concept car called i-TRIL. It will bear the futuristic autonomous mobility approach. It has been designed by the Toyota Europe in collaboration with ED2 design studio in Nice, France. The car will offer a one-plus-two seating layout. Expect it to come with several advanced technology. Power source for the Toyota i-TRIL concept would be a 209 hp 1.8-litre supercharged engine.

Mercedes-Maybach G650 Landaulet


This is a beasty off-roader with absolute luxury on offer. It arrives following the footsteps of the G63 AMG 6×6 and G500 4×42. Only 99 units of this car will be manufactured too keep its exclusivity of extreme off-road ability blended with uncompromised luxury. The SUV will be powered by AMG’s biturbo 6.0-liter V12 engine generating 630 hp of peak power and massive 1,000 Nm torque.

Abarth 595 Pista


Fiat’s Abarth performance division will bring the 595 Pista at Geneva show, an upgraded version of the Fiat 500. A stylish performance oriented hot hatch powered by a 160 hp generating 1.4-litre turbo engine. This pocket rocket can accelerate 0-100 kmph in 7.3 seconds with a top speed of 215 kmph.

ABT Audi R8 Plus V10


Audi R8 Plus V10 becomes more powerful and high-performer with ABT package. It dons plenty of carbon fibre parts all around the body, new wheels and a revised interior as well. Comes shedding 50 kg weight and adding 20 hp additional power to the massive 5.2-litre V10 engine, producing a total output of 631 hp.

ABT Audi SQ7


VW group tuning specialist ABT makes the performance oriented Audi SQ7 more powerful and faster with a tuned powertrain and new body parts. It appears more aggressive and muscular than the regular SQ7 and interior also comes redesigned. The 4.0-litre V8 diesel engine generates 83 hp and 70 Nm extra than the regular model.

ABT Audi TT RS-R


ABT Sportsline will showcase a limited edition Audi TT, which will be produced in only 50 units. The car will come with upgraded exterior and interior along with power boost compared to the standard model. The 2.5-litre five-cylinder TFSi petrol engine will generate 99 hp and 120 Nm extra than the regular Audi TT.

ABT Audi RS6+ Avant


Among the upgraded offerings from ABT there will be the RS6+ Avant with performance upgrade through the special body kit and engine tuning. Aston Martin DB11 Q Series is a performance-oriented version of the DB11 sports coupe, modified by the bespoke Q division of the British brand. According to the automaker, this car appears with a blend of creativity and performance, through the unique styling and body kits added to the model.

Audi RS Q5


Audi RS Q5 has been one of the most anticipated cars breaking cover at Geneva show. It appears with little similarity to the SQ5 but comes deliver greater performance. It could use the SQ5’s 3.0-litre V6 petrol engine or a Porsche 2.9-litre V6. But expect retuning to generate more energy. It could reach 0-100 kmph in less than 5 seconds.

Bentley Bentayga Mulliner


You think Bentley Bentayga is not luxurious enough? Here comes the Bentayga Mulliner, a more luxurious and faster version of the world’s most powerful, fastest and most premium SUV. It appears incorporating a dual-tone body-paint, 22-inch alloy wheels, floating wheelarches and several other reworked body parts. Powered by the 600 hp 6.0-litre W12 engine, the Bentayga Mulliner comes with a restyled interior as well.

2018 BMW 4-Series Coupe, Gran Coupe and Convertible


BMW has given the 3-Series Coupe, Gran Coupe and Convertible a mid-cycle facelift, and the cars are ready to be launched at Geneva. They appear with new sleeker design thanks to restyled LED headlamps, fog lamps and taillights as well. The interior too gets subtle design change and comes attractive than the predecessor. Power sources include a range of petrol and diesel engines.

Alfa Romeo Giulia Coupe


A very stylish and luxury performance-spec coupe from Alfa Romeo targeting the Mercedes-Benz C-Class Coupe, BMW 4-Series Coupe and Audi A5 Coupe, the Giulia will make debut at Geneva show. It will be the third car from the brand being underpinned by the Giorgio platform. It is expected to draw energy from a 2.9-liter twin-turbo V6 engine.

Alfa Romeo Stelvio


Alfa Romeo Stelvio is a premium luxury SUV with an eye-catching design, luxurious features inside the cabin and efficient powertrain options. The car is available in three different trims Stelvio, Stelvio Super and Stelvio Tecnica. The powertrain options for this model include 280 hp 2.0-liter turbocharged petrol and a 210 hp 2.2-liter diesel engine, mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission.

Alpina B5


Alpina is all set to introduce its new B5 bi-turbo at the Geneva Motor Show, which comes based on the BMW 5-Series. Based on the BMW’s CLAR platform, it is likely to appear as the best car from the brand. It could carry the outgoing B5’s 591 hp 4.4-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine.

Alpine A110


It could come as a tough challenger to the Alfa Romeo 4C and Porsche 718 Cayman. Comes following the Vision concept, the car uses a full aluminium lightweight platform and upper body. It could come powered by a 1.8-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine generating around 300 hp. Expect the Alpine A110 to reach 100 kmph from nothing in 4.5 seconds.

Apollo Arrow


One of the hypercars to expected at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show is the Apollo Arrow. It comes with a stunning appearance featuring plenty of carbon fibre elements at exterior and inside the cabin. Being a hypercar, it heavily focuses on the aerodynamics and lightweight chassis. Power source for the car is a 4.4-litre twin-turboV8 generating 750 hp.
