India-bound 2017 Chevrolet Cruze caught testing in spy video in Germany General Motors launched the second generation Chevrolet Cruze sedan with a heavily revised exterior and new engine line-up earlier this year in June. The international spec vehicle is expected to go on sale in the first quarter of 2016 and will play as a replacement to the existing Indian version. However, the American-based car manufacturer could delay the introduction of the new generation Chevrolet Cruze until 2017 for the Indian market. It’s supposed to only come with a diesel engine line-up if the domestic debut would be hurried up as soon as next year and thus the company stretching the time period to localise production of diesel powertrain. The 2017 Chevrolet Cruze has been caught testing in Germany and some of its details can be witnessed from the spy video. The completely disguised model hides the new exterior styling with a Camouflage but it was all apparent when revealed in June in the US. It is built on an all-new D2XX FWD platform making the car lighter than before. About 113kg dearer to its first - generation predecessor, the new construction will aid in improving handling characteristics and lessen the body-roll whilst supplementing a comfortable ride. On the outside, it’s unlike the Chinese-spec Cruze which lacked sharpness but the interior design looks to have been carried over with seve-inch MyLink infotainment system, three-spoke steering wheel, driver focussed cockpit area and larger MID on the instrument cluster. The front fascia features a hexagonal air-intake, redesigned fog lamps, angled headlamps with LED daytime running lights. The wing mirrors have been restyled to channel air to the rear and C-pillar has received tweaks as well with aggressive bumper at the back and revamped horizontal taillamps. https://www.youtube.com/watch?vRTvyDdd5BuY For the US market, the new Cruze sedan is powered by a 1.4-litre direct injection turbocharged engine with start/stop technology putting out 153hp of maximum power and 240 Nm of peak torque.
