Renault offering huge discounts on Kwid as some dealer still has pre-facelift models and 2017 MY models in stock

Renault Kwid is the second best selling model in the entry-level A1 segment for November 2018. Renault introduced a minor update for the hatchback to improve sales earlier this year but it hasn’t got the desired result as this hatchback is registering negative growth. The French manufacturer is currently offering massive discounts on the Kwid.

The entry-level variant of Kwid 80cc has priced at Rs. 2.67 lakh (Ex-Showroom) but the customers can get the model for just Rs. 1.95 lakh (effective ex-showroom) as the 2017 model of the hatchback is offered with Rs. 72,000 cash discount and the 2018 facelift model is also available with a discount of up to Rs. 35,000, which includes first-year comprehensive insurance, additional two year extended warranty and Rs. 2000 corporate discount.

These offers will be available only in December and for the existing stock of the pre-facelift model. The updated model of Kwid comes with tweaked front grille with chrome elements. The moulding on the side gets new graphics and Kwid branding is written in a new font. The company has also given the option of the reverse camera with parking sensors.

The interior continues to get the same design theme as the previous model and the only changes are the introduction of a 12V socket for rear passengers and chrome finished door handles. The entry-level hatchback comes with a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system and the instrument cluster is a fully digital unit carried over from the earlier model.

The base variant of Kwid come with basic features like heater, gear shift indicator, fuel lid and tailgate inner release, mono-tone dashboard, moon grey upholstery, parking brake console, floor console with 2 can holder, integrated roof spoiler, black hubcap, tinted glazing, side indicator on wheel arch cladding and black bumpers.

The Kwid is currently offered with two engine options but the powerful engine is available on top-spec variants as the entry-level 799 cc engine produces 54 hp of power and 72 Nm of torque, this engine is mated to 5-speed manual gearbox only. The 1.0 L engine puts out 68 PS and 91 Nm, transmission option includes manual and AMT.
