The Ignis can be bought at the same price of Santro as the company is offering a good year ending discount & benefits
Maruti Suzuki Ignis is one of the models, which is the least selling model in Nexa. In December, the Ignis is available with good discount offers as the manual variant comes with a total discount of up to Rs. 72,000 which includes Rs. 40,000 as cash discount, Rs, 25,000 as exchange bonus and Rs. 7000 as a corporate discount.
The automatic variant of Ignis is offered with Rs. 45,000 as cash, Rs. 25,000 as exchange bonus and Rs. 7000 as the corporate discount, which takes the total benefits up to Rs. 77,000. With this aggressive discount offer, the customer can get the Ignis at the same price of Santro.
Hyundai is currently not offering any discount for Santro as the model was launched in October and the initial response is excellent as bookings crossed 40,000. The company has managed to sell 9009 units in November 2018 and the entered the top 10 list. The strong brand value of Santro will help the hatchback to edge ahead.
Maruti Suzuki was offering Ignis with both petrol and diesel engine earlier but the company decided to discontinue the diesel variant earlier this year due to the lack of sales. The Ignis is offered in four variants – Sigma, Delta, Zeta and Alpha. The 1.2 L K-Series petrol engine produces 82 bhp of power at 6,000 rpm and 113 Nm of torque at 4,200 rpm.
The power is sent to front wheels via 5-speed manual and AMT gearbox. According to ARAI, the Ignis returns 20.89 kmpl and the Santro return 20.3 kmpl. Maruti Suzuki has loaded the Ignis with lots of features like projector headlamps with DRLs, touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, reverse camera and more.
The Santro is powered by 1.1 L petrol engine with 69 PS and 99 Nm, this engine is mated to a 5-speed manual and AMT gearbox. Like the Ignis, the Santro is also loaded with some segment first features to lure buyers from other models. Hyundai Santro price starts at Rs. 3.89 lakh and goes all the way up to Rs. 5.45 lakh for the top end model.
