BMW Stopped Sales Of New Generation M5 In Global Markets

BMW introduced new generation M5 last year globally and the new model is still not yet available across most of the countries as the German manufacturer is taking its own sweet time to launch it in all the markets as it is one of the popular sports sedans in the world. BMW has officially announced a recall of new generation M5.

The problem with new M5 is that during certain driving conditions, the engine control software may stop the fuel pump, which in turn stall the car and depending on the situation it will be very dangerous. But the solution is a simple software update for the engine control system and the M5 will work flawlessly.

2018 BMW M5 InteriorBMW will officially begin recall from July 6th onwards. The cars affected are manufactured from August 21, 2017 to April 17, 2018. So probably all the new M5 will be affected with this issue as the car is relatively new to the market. BMW has also asked the dealers to stop the sales of M5 in stock as they might also have this problem.

BMW is recalling 846 units which were affected this issue. Recently, BMW also introduced competition variant of new M5 which will begin sales shortly. The company is planning to bring the M5 Competition to India as it will be right model to fight against the Mercedes AMG E63 S which was launched last month in India.

2018 BMW M5 RearAlong with M5, BMW also announced a recall of 335d sedans from MY 2010-2011. The problem with 3 Series is the electrical power steering system as it could stall the vehicle. It can be fixed by replacing the positive battery cable connector and securing it. The total number of units affected with this problem is 6,591 units and it is limited to USA only.
