BMW G310 R Comic Book “Riders in the Storm” will reportedly promote the launch of the new, low-displacing naked sportsbike from the German brand

BMW Motorrad will be publishing a comic novel that features the about-to-be-launched G 310R at the heart of the action. Titled as “Riders in the Storm” the comic book has been reported to be released in October, at around the same time as the 2016 Intermot Cologne event, the biennial trade show for motorcycle manufacturers in Germany.

The story and text will be developed by Croatian author, Darko Macan, who has created and collaborated on comics, essays and science fiction and fantasy. Riccardo Burchielli, an ardent motorcycle rider and enthusiast, will be taking up the illustrator role. He is an Italian artist known for his influence on the DC/Vertigo comic book series DMZ, as well as working for famous publishers like Dark Horse and Marvel in a career spanning over 15 years.

Harley-Davidson joined hands with Marvel and created a series called Road Force team comprising HD riders as superheroes and thus the concept of using comics for promoting motorcycles is an effective means one way or the other. The Riders in the Storm goes by the story of the character Makani, a policewoman, and her troop having “a wolf with exceptional powers” fighting against Black Riders.

BMW Motorrad and Panini will be explaining the comic project for the first time at Comic Con Germany in Stuttgart on June 25 and 26. Makani Terror, a real-life tattoo model playing in the main role, will also be present and on the occasion an art version of the BMW G 310R will be showcased.
