BMW G310 R and GS were the most anticipated bikes to be launched in India this year. These bikes are manufactured at TVS’ plant in Hosur and India is the manufacturing hub of G310 twins as they’re exported elsewhere from here. Both these bikes are powered by 313 cc single cylinder engine produces 34 PS of power at 9,500 rpm and 28 Nm of torque at 7,500 rpm.

This engine is mated to 6 speed gearbox and G310 R does 0-50 kph in 2.5 sec. The top speed of G310 R is 143 kph. Both bikes come with same 41 mm upside down forks and adjustable preload monoshock at rear, but G310 R forks has less travel. The braking duties are handled by 300 mm front disc brake and 240 mm rear disc.

BMW offers dual channel ABS as standard on both bikes. The G310 R come with 17 inch wheels at front and rear with Michelin Pilot Street tyres. The G310 GS adventure tourer gets 19 inch wheels at front and 17 inches at rear and they run on Metzeler Tourance tyres, which can provide good grip on-road and off-road.

The design of both these bikes are going to play an important role in sales and G310 GS might be more popular thanks to its adventure styling, which is similar to its big GS brothers. BMW is expecting good response for both these bikes as they are the most affordable product from German manufacturer in India.
