BMW 320d Edition Sport gets power from a 2.0-litre TwinPower turbo diesel making 188 bhp and 400 Nm of peak torque
BMW India has today launched a new model to its 3-Series lineup as the 320d Edition Sport comes with a price of Rs. 38.60 lakh (ex-showroom, pan India). Locally produced at the German company’s plant in Chennai, it uses the familiar four-cylinder TwinPower turbo diesel engine which is good enough to produce a maximum power output of 188 bhp and peak torque of 400 Nm between 1,750 rpm and 2,500 rpm.
Available across all authorised BMW dealerships in India, the 320d Edition Sport has its engine tuned to provide better response and power delivery. It is coupled to the eight-speed Steptronic automatic transmission with steering mounted paddle shifters and helps achieving a top speed of 250 kmph and doing standstill to 100 kmph in just 7.2 seconds.
The fuel economy is claimed at an impressive 22.69 kmpl and it is on par with some of the affordable cars you can buy. There are different driving modes to choose from such as Comfort, Eco, Pro, Sport and Sport + and the launch control function is made available as standard. The significant features list includes brake energy regeneration, electronic power steering and auto start-stop.
With 50:50 weight distribution, BMW concentrated on making the car more engaging to drive while being easy for the passengers allowing increased driving pleasure. Up front, the BMW 320d Edition Sport features glossy black treated LED headlamps, grille and bumper section. BMW offers a host of interior trims including Sensatec Black/Red highlight, Black and Sensatec Veneto Beige, Veneto Beige. The exterior colour palette comprises of Alphine White, Black Sapphire and Mediterranean Blue shades.
On the inside, there is availability of a 6.5-inch touchscreen infotainment system with CD Drive, BMW ConnectedDrive features, Bluetooth, USB and AUX connectivity, BMW Apps, view camera with PDC, etc. The list of safety features provided is six airbags, Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) with Dynamic Traction Control (DTC), Cornering Brake Control (CBC), ABS, Brake Assist, ISOFIX child mounts, crash sensors, immobilizer and side-impact protection among others.
