Hyundai Creta Review-8

Hyundai has been the most successful foreign car brand in Indian market since its entrance here in late 90’s. Currently, the second largest automaker present in the country, Hyundai comes offering a wide range of cars in various segments. One of the most popular models from this South Korean auto major is the Creta in the compact SUV segment. This car has earned pretty much popularity within short span after its launch here.

The Hyundai Creta appears with a muscular stance and it has been designed following the Korean company’s latest Fluidic Sculpture 2.0 design language. It gets a chrome garnished horizontally slated hexagonal front grille flanked with sharp headlamps sporting projector lamps and integrated LED daytime running lights. The front bumper looks muscular and there is a black cladding, large air intake and skid plate as well. The fog lamps come with unusual shape and they are positioned at black housing.

Side profile of the Hyundai Creta features multi-spoke alloy wheels, black cladding, crisp character lines, turn indicator integrated ORVMs and a floating roof pattern thanks to the blackened glass area. The sporty roof rails enhance its visual appeal further. Moving to the back of the SUV, Creta gets integrated roof spoiler, sharp wraparound taillights, chrome finished handlebar at tailgate and a black bumper with skid plate. Overall, the SUV comes with unique appearance that grabs attention at the very first place.

Not only exterior, inside the cabin too Hyundai Creta impresses us with its interestingly executed design and upmarket features on offer. The SUV sports a dual tone interior theme. There is a multifunction steering wheel, analog and digital display consisting instrument cluster, a large touchscreen infotainment system at the centre console with ergonomic positioning. The AC vents come vertically slated and sports silver accent around them. The layered dashboard, upmarket quality seat and upholstery materials enhance its appeal further. It offers generous space and comfort to the occupants.

On the powertrain front, Hyundai Creta is available in both petrol and diesel engine options. Petrol models gets a 1.4-litre engine that is capable of churning out 122 bhp of peak power at 6,400 rpm and 154 Nm of peak torque at 4,850 rpm. On diesel front, it gets two different engines. The 1.4-litre unit kicks out 89 bhp of peak power at 4,000 rpm and 224 Nm of peak torque from 1,500 rpm. There is a slightly larger 1.6-litre engine as well that kicks out 126 bhp of peak power at 4,000 rpm and 265 Nm of peak torque from 1,900 rpm. Transmission options include a 6-speed manual gearbox and a 6-speed automatic unit as well.
