The ultra-exclusive Range Rover SV Coupé is claimed to be the fastest full-sized Range Rover ever with 0-100 kmph time of just 5.3 seconds
Land Rover has unveiled the Range Rover SV Coupé at the 2018 Geneva International Motor Show and the limited production run model is claimed to be the world’s first full-size luxury SUV coupé. Developed by Land Rover Design and SVO division (Special Vehicle Operations), the SV Coupé is an exclusive model and is limited to just 999 units.
With a two-door silhouette, this four-seat coupé alludes modern and contemporary design. It boasts signature floating roof, flowing waist lines and tapering tail along with elegant power-close doors with frameless glass, panoramic roof, new Contour Graphic in four dual-tone colourways, unique side vent and grille design topped off by 23-inch wheel option.
The plush and dynamic exterior is complemented by the beautiful cabin with semi-aniline leather front seats. The premium interior’s accommodation is compared by Land Rover to private jets and yachts and the gradated diamond quilt design is very unique to SV Coupé. Each example is hand-assembled to the client’s personal requirements by the fastidious experts at the SVO Technical Centre in Warwickshire, UK.
Prospective clients can register their interest now on at the brand’s official website and it has been announced that the prices will start from £240,000 (Rs. 2.17 crore approx) in the UK. Buyers can choose between four front-to-rear contrast interior colourways or from a range of single-tone interior colours. Besides three elegant wood veneers, including Nautica which balances heritage craftsmanship and new technology by fusing walnut and sycamore, the Ranfe Rover SV Coupe can be had in optional paint finishes like Liquesence – a liquid metal finish on a Range Rover vehicle for the first time.
Apart from the array of exterior and interior options, Special Vehicle Operations’ bespoke personalisation team offers clients the opportunity to create their own unique vehicle suiting their taste with 100 more paint colours, unique ‘match to sample’ hues, headrest embroidery; door handle and tread plate engraving, semi-precious metal badging, range of finishes; duo-tone front and rear leather colours with bespoke quilt pattern; contrast stitching; etc.
The SV Coupé is also the fastest full-size Range Rover ever and uses a 5.0-litre Supercharged V8 petrol powertrain producing 565 PS and 700 Nm. It is mated to an eight-speed ZF automatic transmission with rotary drive selector and paddle-shift. That limited edition model does 0-100 kmph in just 5.3 seconds and has a top speed of 165 mph (266 kmph). Permanent four-wheel drive with a two-speed transfer box and Active Locking Rear Differential is assisted by Terrain Response 2 featuring Dynamic, Eco, Comfort, Grass Gravel Snow, Mud and Ruts, Sand and Rock Crawl modes.
