Bajaj V15’s V stands for Vikrant, India’s famous aircraft carrier warship, which was scrapped in 2014. It is claimed to be the most patriotic product ever in the country and in automotive industry as well. This motorcycle created its own segment. The motorcycle sports a muscular appearance. It comes with the unique fuel tank which bears the INS Vikrant logo on it. It gets a part cafe racer and part cruiser like appearance. The motorcycle gets a 149.5 cc four stroke single cylinder air cooled engine mated to a five speed transmission which churns out 12 PS of peak power and 13 Nm of peak torque. Incidentally this same engine has been generating power for the famous and very popular Bajaj Pulsar 150 for last ten years.
When Bajaj introduced their affordable cruiser Avenger few years back, it couldn’t fetch a good sales figure, but when the two wheeler maker introduced their new restyled second generation Avengers in an all new avatar and with new models in late 2015, the new Avengers grabbed everyone’s attention. Presently, Bajaj sells Avenger 180, Avenger 200, Avenger 220, Avenger Street 150, Avenger Street 220 and Avenger Cruise 220. The popular two wheeler maker has plans to introduce an Avenger 400 in near future, which will compete against Royal Enfield models.
