Bajaj Pulsar range to become more powerful as 150, 180 and 220 models will have refined engines says Managing Director Rajiv Bajaj
Pulsar has been a range of very popular motorcycles from Bajaj Auto, for quite long time, which has seen immense success in Indian two-wheeler market. The company is planning to update three models Pulsar 150, Pulsar 180 and the Pulsar 220, with refined engines and design updates as well. These updated models are expected to hit the market sometime later this year. This new range of Pulsar motorcycles will come more powerful compared to the outgoing models.
Mr. Rajiv Bajaj, the MD of Bajaj Auto; has informed about this upcoming more powerful range of Pulsars. The new range of motorcycles has been spied testing in and around the two-wheeler manufacturer’s Pune plant. Apart from being more powerful, the new range of Bajaj Pulsars are expected to come more fuel efficient as well. The new engines could also come BS IV compliant, compared to the present BS III complaint engines.
Expect these models to come with updated headlights, fuel tank; while the mono-shock rear suspension and underbody exhaust system has been spied as well. The updated new Bajaj Pulsar models could get CBS, ABS like features as well.
Presently the two-wheeler manufacturer is readying the VS400 for launch. Earlier this year, the motorcycle was reported to be sitting on top of the Pulsar range, as the most powerful model. But now it is revealed that, the VS400 will launch under a different brand. Therefore, the VS400 won’t get the Pulsar badge at all.
As the VS400 comes under a new brand, it will take on the Royal Enfield motorcycles. It takes power from a 373.2cc single-cylinder, four-valve, liquid-cooled engine, which is shared by KTM Duke 390. Paired with a 6-speed transmission, the engine churns out 35 PS of peak power at 8,000 RPM, while the fuel economy for this model is around 30kmpl, and the top speed for this model is 175kmph.
