Bajaj Pulsar CS 400 premium motorcycle could be launched this year and it will be powered by 373.4 cc engine from Duke 390 making close to 40 bhp

Bajaj Auto is known for being aggressively placing its products in the Indian two-wheeler market. The Bajaj Pulsar RS200 is a prime example as it features every technical bit the KTM RC 200 has to offer but has been priced very competitively at over Rs. 50,000 less expensive than the faired Austrian motorcycle.

Earlier this year, the largest exporter of motorcycles in the country introduced a new segment through the V15. It boasts the affordability whilst being a stylish commuter strapped with a proven performance engine package. The next move for the valiant Indian manufacturer could be to launch a premium high-performance bike reports NDTV Auto.

The premium motorcycle could fall under the mid-size category and it appears to be pointing towards the next big Pulsar, the CS 400. The concept version of the CS400 made its public debut at the 12th edition of the Indian Auto Expo alongside the Pular SS400. Despite the company indirectly suggested that it would be launched this year, no specific details had been revealed.

BAJAJ CS 400 CONCEPT

The Cruiser Concept 400 will rival against the KTM Duke 390 if launched and it will sit above the RS 200 as the brand’s flagship model. Given Bajaj’s knack in bringing up a production version as similar to the concept, the CS 400 could follow major styling language as found at the 2014 Auto Expo.

The Pulsar CS 400 shares components with the KTM Duke 390 and as the fully-faired SS 400 concept spawning the now range-topping RS 200, the production avatar of the CS 400 could retain its aggressive stance besides being powered by a potent engine. The likelihood of ex-showroom price range around Rs. 2 lakh is highly expected as well.

The CS 400 premium performance motorcycle will be powered by a single-cylinder 373.4 cc engine that currently does duty in the KTM Duke 390. It will be liquid-cooled and fuel injected to generate a massive power output of nearly 40 bhp and comes mated with a six-speed transmission. It could feature LCD display on the fuel tank and digital instrument cluster as seen on the concept.
