Husqvarna brand will be debuting the Svartpilen 401 and Vitpilen 401 by the festive season and they have already been spied testing in India

By festive season 2019, Bajaj Auto will reportedly have six motorcycles launched in the domestic market amidst the debut of the Husqvarna brand around the similar timeframe. All the six models will be pivotal in driving growth for the homegrown two-wheeler maker.

Bajaj has been lively since the beginning of the year by updating its portfolio with standard safety features and inclusion of new body graphics at times. Additionally, the revised Dominar 400 and Avenger series came as the main highlights as it was an attempt to improve their volume sales.

Over the next three to four months (starting from June), there will be at least three to four launches from the Chakan-based company. According to Rakesh Sharma, Bajaj Auto’s Chief Commercial Officer, the products “will be on smart innovations but not revolutionary”.

Rewinding back, it would be worth noting that Rajiv Bajaj confirmed of new special editions or new variants of the popular motorcycles such as CT 100, Pulsar and Platina along the course of this year. He also said that the three motorcycles would have a new feature to lure in more buyers.

Standing in relevance, a new report states that Bajaj CT and Platina will be up for grabs in their 125 cc specifications ahead of September or October (festive season) when the buying sentiments will largely be positive among customers. The September to November period will also see the launch of the Husqvarna brand as Sharma said: “We are on track with it”.

The Swedish brand will be introduced in India with Svartpilen 401 and the Vitpilen 401 motorcycles and both are based on the KTM Duke 390 that is heavily localised in India. Expect them to be priced higher than the Duke 390 though due to their premium nature and they will help in Bajaj Auto exploring into new segments. The launch of Duke 790 and 390 Adventure are also on the cards for later this year.
