Bajaj Chetak Electric Scooter Crosses 20,000 Bookings This Month

Bajaj Auto has today announced that the Chetak electric scooter has achieved a new milestone of 20,000 bookings in a single month in July 2024. Recently, the brand introduced the Chetak 2901 variant for a starting price of Rs. 95,998 (ex-showroom, Bengaluru). Furthermore, Bajaj has been expanding the Chetak Experience Centres to cater to new audiences.

The Chakan-based manufacturer notes that Bajaj dealerships in smaller towns (Tier 2) has also played a vital role in widening the footprint of the e-scooter across India. The Chetak electric scooter is now available across 2,000 sales outlets in the country. The entry-level Bajaj Chetak 2901 boasts a claimed riding range of 123 km on a single charge and is packed with features.

They include a coloured digital cluster with Bluetooth connectivity and alloy wheels. Buyers get the option to choose the Lifetime Tec Pac which enables features such as Hill Hold, Reverse, Sport and Economy modes, call and music controls, ‘Follow Me Home’ lights and Bluetooth App connectivity. It is available in a total of five colour schemes.

They are Red, White, Black, Lime Yellow and Azure Blue. The Bajaj Chetak is priced at Rs. 1.35 lakh for Urbane while the top-end Premium variant costs Rs. 1.58 lakh (ex-showroom). All variants in the Chetak lineup can be upgraded with the optional Tec Pac. It offers features like app connectivity, call management, music control, geo-fencing for increased security, and access to various ride modes.

This add-on enables you to customise the Chetak to better meet the customer’s needs. As an added benefit, the Chetak Premium, Chetak Urbane, and Chetak 2901 variants come under the Electric Mobility Promotion Scheme (EMPS) subsidy by the Ministry of Heavy Industries (MHI) as well.

The Bajaj Chetak features a 4.2 kW electric motor and up to 3.2 kWh battery pack with IP67 water-resistance rating. It boasts a claimed driving range of around 127 km on a single charge. The battery is claimed to replenish from zero to 100 per cent in four and a half hours. The Chetak utilises offset monoshock rear suspension and single-sided front sprint and sits on a tubular steel underbone-type frame.
