The overall sales of Bajaj Auto increased by 10 per cent in February as the company managed to sell 3,93,089 units
Bajaj Auto has once again surpassed the expectation of analysts as the company posted overall sales growth of 10 per cent in February 2019. The company sold 3,93,089 units last month compared to 3,57,833 in the same month last year. But the Pulsar maker posted just 6 per cent growth in the domestic market.
The company has managed to sell 1,86,523 units last month compared to 1,75,489 units in the same month last year. One of the reasons for the impressive growth is the increasing exports as the company exported 1,41,462 units in February 2019 compared to 1,22,025 units in the same month last year.
The export business is very important for the company. Along with Bajaj motorcycles, the company also manufactures KTM bikes in India and they are exported to the global market. Now they are planning to shift the production of entry-level Husqvarna bikes to India, which will further help the Indian manufacturer to utilize its plant efficiently.
The commercial vehicle segment is also posting good growth as Bajaj sales improved by 8 per cent in February. The company sold 65,104 units last month compared to 60,369 units in the same month last year. Bajaj is planning to launch the Qute in the market soon, which is expected to bring lots of volumes.
In the last couple of months, Bajaj has been updating its bike above 125 cc with single channel ABS system as all two-wheeler above 125 cc must get the ABS system as standard. The company decided to given ABS only for the front wheels as it will keep cost down and most of the Pulsar models also come with rear wheel lift protection sensor also.
One of the major launches from Bajaj will be the updated Dominar 400, which is going to be introduced later this month in India and the bookings for the performance cruiser opened earlier this week. The new Dominar 400 comes with lots of changes like increased power output along with new features to make it more appealing.
