Avantura Choppers is betting big on high end 2,000cc customised motorcycles in India and the brand has entered officially into the market a few days ago. What’s more interesting is that it has an India origin and as the operation commences, Avantura has become the first domestic manufacturer to offer bikes having such high displacement engines.
The company has announced that it will sell two motorcycles initially – the Avantura Rudra and Avantura Pravega. The brand has been set up by two motorcycle enthusiasts namely Gaurav Aggarwal and Vijay Singh. While Gaurav is the CEO of the company, Singh is the Chief Revenue Officer. Kevin Alsop has been running the show as the Chief Design Officer of the brand. Alsop had a great helping hand at America-based Big Bear Choppers that sadly, almost demolished during the 2008 recession.
The motorcycles have chromed wheels, heavily slanted front forks, front-set foot pegs, thick seats, tall handlebars, etc. The engine in both the Avantura Choppers is sourced from S&S, an American brand that has over 50 years of experience in manufacturing high performance solutions. The transmission has been taken from the house of Rivera and will be a six-speed unit.
Buyers can personalise their motorcycles how they prefer and they will be sold with ARAI certification. The company states that it has a good stock of spares that will help in a decent after sales support to the customers. The brand intends to sell 200 units by the end of FY2018-19 and is looking to grab 7 to 8 percent market share by the year 2022.
