Audi is expected to lower the ground clearance to improve handling which might affect ride quality and it is powered by the same engine from S3
Audi officially confirmed that Q2 model will get a performance variant later this year at the Annual Press Conference. Even though the road testing of SQ2 had begun in 2016 as the company is giving importance to other volume models like A6, A7 and A8. The German manufacturer has commenced sales of these new generation models in international markets for sometime now.
The SQ2 is based on the regular Q2 and continues the same design theme. But Audi designers have made some changes to the exterior and interior to make the Q2 look edgy and sporty. The front get new bumper along with new vents below the grille which will improve cooling for the engine and also reduces drag.

On the side, there are not many changes except for new alloy wheels. The prototype spied doesn’t come with dual tone colours but we expect the production model to get colour options which will make the model look sporty and aggressive. Audi has also given S-branded callipers and the braking system has been upgraded.
At the rear, Audi has given new bumper along with cuts and curves on it. The SQ2 also comes with quad exhaust pipes which are tuned to give sporty exhaust note. The interior of SQ2 is carried over from regular Q2 except for new red colours on the seats and door pad with contrasting red stitching. The SQ2 get a revised instrument cluster to go with the overall sporty theme.

Audi SQ2 is powered by same engine from S3 which is the 2.0 L four cylinder engine producing 310 PS of power and 400 Nm of torque. This engine is mated to either 7 speed or 8 speed DSG gearbox and the power will be sent to all four wheels. 0-100 kph in 4.6 sec and top speed is limited to 250 kph on S3.
But on the SQ2 the number could go up slightly higher as the engine redlines at 6,100 rpm and the speedometer tops out at 280 kph. Audi is expected to lower the ground clearance to improve handling which might affect ride quality. Once launched, the SQ2 will be the most affordable performance SUV from Audi.
