Audi officially confirmed that the production version of e-Tron electric SUV will make its debut on August 30 at the Audi Summit in Brussels
Initially, Audi was planning to bring an electric version of R8 and the German manufacturer built prototypes for testing but market study confirmed that SUV is the right model to go as the segment is rising in China which is going to be the biggest market for electric vehicles along with emerging markets like India. Audi officially unveiled –Tron global concept in 2015. Since then the company was working on the production version of e-Tron.
Rupert Stradler, Chairman of the Board of Management of Audi AG said that during the initial development of e-Tron which is around 4 years back, people were sceptical about the electric SUV theme but the market study confirmed they are on the right track. He said that the upcoming electric SUV design will be sexy and appeal to younger buyers.

Audi officially confirmed that the production version of e-Tron electric SUV will make its debut on August 30 at the Audi Summit in Brussels. The e-Tron is going to be manufactured at Brussels factory and the company has made lots of changes for the factory as the production is going to be slightly different from regular products.
We have already seen production prototype of e-Tron testing in different parts of the world. Audi confirmed that they are testing the prototype in four continents as heat testing is going in Africa while cold testing in Scandinavia. The German manufacturer is also testing e-Tron in busy cities of China and USA to make sure that the electric SUV will be flawless in all the conditions.

The upcoming will be equipped with quattro all-wheel drive system which will help the e-Tron to tackle off-road also. The company is also putting e-Tron through its paces at Nurburgring as they want handling also to be precise. Audi hasn’t revealed much detail about power figures and performance of the e-Tron.
The concept version comes with four electric motors with an combined output of 496 hp and 800 Nm of torque. Audi is also working on fast charging technology as the e-Tron can charge from 0 to 80 percent in 30 minutes and the company is also conducting lots of battery test to make sure that everything is perfect. The booking for e-Tron is expected to begin by the end of this year and the company is planning to launch e-Tron to India also.
