Audi has made this 20.9 feet A8 L limousine on request from an European customer
Audi A8 L is surely the most luxurious sedan on offer from the German luxury automaker. But now, they have stepped one step further with the flagship luxury sedan. On request from an European customer Audi has manufactured an one off A8 L Extended limousine which comes with 20.9 feet of length.
The far stretched A8 L gets a wheelbase of 13.8 feet, which means plenty of space inside the cabin, and it can afford the maximum level of luxury and comfort on wheels you can ever think of. The normal A8 L sedan comes with 3.6 feet shorter wheelbase than the one off model. The stretched limo gets small side marker lights at both sides, which is as per laws for vehicles of such a length.
The limo is entirely made from aluminium, which makes it lighter despite such a long body. It is built on the Audi Space Frame design. To keep the roofline perfectly matching with the body the German automaker has incorporated a complete reworked frame. Beginning from the A pillar to the rear the A8 L limo gets extended side sills and the centre tunnel also gets extensive aluminium elements.
The roof sports additional aluminium incorporated tubes and cross bars. It also gets a 7.9 feet long glass panel on the roff in form of a panoramic sunroof, which will make the cabin more airy. The passenger compartment gets separated from the boot by a double rear bulkhead. It will also equip the car torsionally rigid.
Wondering what is inside the A8 L Extended limo? It has a seating capacity for six adult occupants divided in three row, which come wrapped in extra supple plush Valcona leather and finished in velvet beige. The second and third rows get electrically adjustable individual seats. The rear occupants get a separate centre console, a cool box and separate rear seat entertainment display.
Coming to the mechanical front, The Audi A8 L Extended limo weighs 2418 Kgs, and it gets power from a 3.0 litre TFSI petrol engine paired with an 8 speed Titronic gearbox, which churns out 310 PS peak power and 440 Nm peak torque, and send power to all the four wheels through Audi Quattro permanent All Wheel Drive (AWD) system. The stretched limo can reach 0 – 100 kmph in 7.1 seconds with an electronically restricted speed of 250 kmph. Audi claims the car can decelerate in amazing rate despite being such a large car. The limo runs on 19 inch 15 spoke wheels.
