The Hyundai Venue has received a great response since its launch and can outpace sales of the segment leader Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza in coming months
Hyundai has managed to garner around 50,000 bookings for its latest car – the Venue Compact SUV. Proving to be a cash cow for the South Korean brand, the SUV has managed to keep the segment leader Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza on its toes, inching close to its sales in June 2019. Hyundai Venue was just a few hundred units short of the segment leader, both of them were a little shy of 9000 units.
Out of the 50,000 bookings, Hyundai has delivered close to 20,000 units till now, which proves that Hyundai Venue will cross 10,000 units in July 2019 sales, and could very well go past the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza sales, making it the most sold SUV or rather a compact SUV in India.
Given the high demand of the compact SUV, a few colour options went out of production including Denim Blue and Deep Forest colours and Hyundai sent a notification to the dealers to stop taking further bookings of these two colours till the production issue is resolved. As per the notification, the production of these two colours will start only after 22nd July, 2019.
The Hyundai Venue sits below the popular Creta SUV in the Hyundai’s product lineup in India and is priced at Rs 6.50 Lakh (ex-showroom). The Hyundai Venue is offered in 13 variants out of which five are diesel-engine powered and eight are petrol-engine powered, spread across four variant levels – E, S, SX and SX(O).
The Hyundai Venue was the first car to get connected technology in the form of Blue Link Technology which brings a total of 33 features, out which there are several which are designed specifically for India. This includes remote start-stop, remote climate control and remote door lock/unlock, along with with a find my car function. More features include a sunroof, cruise control among others, all making the Hyundai Venue most feature-rich SUV in India.
Drivetrain options include a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine, a 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine and a 1.4-litre diesel engine. These are available with a 6-speed manual or a 5-speed manual gearbox depending on the variant you choose, and if you go for the 1.0-litre turbocharged engine option, then you can also go for the 7-Speed Dual-Clutch Transmission (DCT) option.
