Ares Design’s X-Raid Is An Uniquely Customised Mercedes G-Class

This modified Mercedes G-Class comes with custom carbon fibre and aluminium bodywork; the 5.5-litre V8 engine tuned to kick out 760 hp

Ares Design has unveiled its X-Raid that is nothing but an unique modified Mercedes-Benz G-Class. The coach building company took a G63 AMG for the modification and applied several custom accessories on it. It comes equipped with carbon fibre and aluminium bodywork that not only replaces the standard body shape of the SUV, but reduces weight by 200 kg helping in improved performance.

The customised SUV boasts LED headlamps with LED daytime running lights borrowed from the current Mercedes-Benz E Class. The front grille appears completely different looking. The radiator grille and headlamps come with thick carbon fibre highlighting. At both sides of the front grille there are horizontally positioned LED stripes. The front bumper dons a sculpted appearance and it boasts large air intake, wide skid plate.

The hood too has been modified. There are LED lamps positioned on top of the hood providing additional illumination to the front. Moving to the side profile of the SUV, it features carbon fibre trims at the wheel arches and it runs on large alloy wheels wrapped with meaty and wide tyres. The roof wears a shiny black paint and doors come customised. Other design elements include carbon fibre trim at the lower side profile, sharp character lines, turn indicator integrated ORVMs with distinctive look.

Moving to the rear profile of the SUV, there are custom LED taillights, a modified tailgate with spare wheel mounted at centre. The rear bumper too has been updated and it comes with carbon fibre trims. Inside the cabin, this SUV features a black and beige dual tone finish that reflects premiumness. It gets a multifunction flat bottom steering wheel, dual-pod instrument cluster and a touchscreen infotainment system at centre console.

Entire cabin is covered with high quality materials that include Nappa leather on seat and carbon fibre trims on different places. On the powertrain front, this SUV gets energy from a 5.5-litre V8 engine that has been tuned to churn out 760 hp of peak power. Ares Design claims, this car can run at a top speed of 250 kmph.
