Aprilia officially revealed the RS 150 and Tuono 150 entry-level performance bikes at the 2018 Auto Expo and it was expected to be introduced this year. According to new reports, the company is planning to launch these motorcycles only in the first half of 2020. Like the scooter models, Aprilia is going to price RS 150 and Tuono 150 at a premium.

Both these motorcycles received positive feedback from customers and one of the reasons for its popularity was the litre class bike inspired design theme. The RS 150 design took inspirations from the RSV4 high-performance litre class bike as the front get triple headlamps set up and the production model could come with LED lights as well.

The visor is small and the design of the fairing is sporty. Aprilia has given an aggressive riding position for the RS 150 as the clip-on handlebars are placed low with rear-set footpegs. The fully faired performance bike comes with the split seat set up like the R15 and the rear get LED tail lamps. The RS 150 is going to compete against Yamaha YZF-R15 Version 3.0 in India.

The Tuono 150 design took inspirations from Tuono 1100 RR and it gets a semi-fairing compared to RS 150. The visor on the Tuono 150 is finished in black colour and the clip-on handlebar is placed slightly higher, which gives a relaxed riding position compared to RS 150 and the company has given single piece seat with pillion seat slightly raised.

The engine and suspension components are the same for both motorcycles as the front get 40 mm inverted forks and mono shocks at the rear. We can expect the suspension to be tuned towards sporty handling and braking duties are handled by 300 mm disc at the front and a 218 mm disc at the rear.

These performance motorcycles offer dual-channel ABS as standard.  Aprilia developed a new 150 cc single cylinder liquid cooled and fuel injected engine for RS 150 and Tuono 150 as it produces 17 bhp of power at 10,000 rpm and 14 Nm of torque at 7,500 rpm. This engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox and the company might offer Quickshifter as an optional package.
