The fourth generation Suzuki Swift will reportedly be unveiled later this year before going on sale in India in H1 2024
The next-generation Suzuki Swift is expected to make its global debut later this year and it has already been spotted testing multiple times on foreign soil. Thus, it could be launched in India in the first half of 2024. Recent speculations indicate that the all-new Swift Sport will be unveiled early next year and it will hit the Japanese and European markets.
It will reportedly feature a 1.4L four-cylinder inline DOHC turbocharged petrol engine, which will be hybridised. It will help Suzuki to meet the stringent emission standards prevailing across the globe and reduce its carbon footprint. The third-generation Swift has been available in the international markets since 2017 and the upcoming model will receive a number of changes.
The third-gen Swift made its domestic market debut in early 2018 as it was showcased at the Auto Expo before going on sale. Just as the previous two iterations, it has been well-received by customers and the forthcoming model will look to build on the success created by the existing iteration. The exterior appears to have undergone evolutionary revisions.
Judging by the spy images, the 2024 Suzuki Swift will come with a redesigned front fascia boasting LED sleeker headlamps, a more prominent clamshell-shaped bonnet structure, a revised bumper with new fog lamps, wider air inlet, etc. Other cosmetic updates will include newly designed alloy wheels, a swoopy roofline, new LED tail lamps and rear bumper, and a tweaked tailgate.
The rear door handles are moved from pillars to their conventional position and the overall dimensions are expected to grow. The interior will be more premium with the presence of more features and technologies. As has been the case with the latest models from the brand, the Heartect platform could be strengthened in the fourth-generation Swift.
The 2024 Maruti Suzuki Swift will be equipped with a 1.2L three-cylinder strong hybrid petrol engine, which will reportedly be capable of a claimed mileage of 35-40 kmpl. It could be offered only with the mid- and top-spec variants as it could be sold alongside the existing 1.2L petrol mill. Its sibling, the next-gen Dzire could be introduced in H2 2024.
