The all-new 2024 Toyota Fortuner could make its global debut late next year or in 2025 and it will likely sit on the modified TNGA-F platform

The next generation Toyota Hilux is expected to be unveiled next year while its SUV sibling, the Fortuner could also arrive later next year or in 2025. In the global markets, the Hilux has been a huge success for the Japanese auto major, just like the Fortuner in India and both will be subjected to big updates in their next avatars as we have reported in the past.

Speculations suggest that the all-new Fortuner will be heavily influenced by the design of the latest Tacoma pickup truck and here we have showed you rendered images of the upcoming full-size SUV to quench your thirst a little bit. The third-gen Fortuner will get big revisions inside and out but we have to admit that the digital images from Q Cars are rather too optimistic.

The redesigned front fascia comprises a split headlamp cluster with DRLs sitting on top, a more prominent skid plate and aggressive housings all around, black finished elements giving a sinister look, a wider air intake and a larger front grille with Toyota badge mounted in the middle. The more muscular squared-off wheel arches with black cladding add to the flair.

Other exterior highlights are bigger wheels, flat body panels, a slightly sloping roofline, full-width twin LED tail lamps, a new tailgate and a thoroughly overhauled bumper area with trapezoidal exhaust outlets. The interior will be more premium and upmarket with a larger touchscreen infotainment system, new connectivity options and improved safety technologies.

It will likely be underpinned by the modified TNGA-F body-on-frame architecture found in the latest Land Cruiser range and Lexus GX with improved off-roading capabilities and on-road mannerisms. The towing capacity could also increase and the overall proportions could also grow. As for the performance, the 2.8L four-cylinder turbo diesel engine with 48-volt mild-hybrid technology will be utilised.

It will be available in the Hilux from next year in the overseas markets. However, reports also note that a new 2.4L turbo diesel/hybrid mill could also be in the works and it could accompany the 2.4L turbo petrol/hybrid unit available in new Prado. A 3.3L turbo V6 diesel borrowed from the LC 300 is also speculated for the international markets.
