Datsun has issued a recall of its latest hatchback Redi-Go in India. The Nissan owned brand has recalled 932 units of Redi-Go over a faulty fuel supply system. Incidentally, Renault has issued a recall for 50,000 units of Kwid 800cc, and Datsun Redi-Go shares its engine with Kwid.
Like the affected Kwids, affected Redi-Go hatchbacks will be inspected and a hose clip will be fitted at no extra cost. Datsun Redi-Go was launched earlier this year on 7th June, and it has sold more than 14,000 units since launch. The company will start contacting the owners later this month.

Datsun Redi-Go is a muscular looking stylish hatchback, which is perfect for city commuting. The car shares its engine and platform with Renault Kwid. Like Kwid it is also based on CMF-A platform developed by Renault-Nissan alliance. The car features a chrome garnished front grille, large wraparound headlamps, and a beefy bumper. Apart from that, it gets flared wheel arches, alloy wheels, and a muscular tone at the side profile, while the rear profile sleek headlamps and muscular vibe.
Interior of Datsun Redi-Go is very much practical and spacious, and being a tallboy hatch this car offers generous amount of headroom for even taller passengers. Recently, Datsun launched Redi-Go Sport with several cosmetic updates in an attempt to boost up sales in festive season.
The 0.8-litre SCe petrol engine in Redi-Go is mated to a 5-speed manual transmission and it churns out 53 bhp of peak power and 72 Nm of peak torque, with a claimed fuel economy of 25.17 kmpl. In Indian market, Redi-Go takes on rivals like Maruti Suzuki Alto 800, Hyundai Eon and Renault Kwid which are pretty popular.
