Tata Tigor Sports (JTP)

The car is based on the Tiago hatchback that has garnered pretty good response. The homegrown auto major has already tied up with Jayem Automotive to develop performance focused sporty variants of its regular models.

Considering the fact that Indian buyers are showing more and more interest towards the sporty cars, Tata Motors is expecting to see good result with this model. Meanwhile the Tigor JTP has been unveiled by the brand ahead at 2018 Delhi Auto Expo. It comes with loads of updates across exterior and interior in order to become sportier.The sedan gets a matte black front grille, while the fog lamp housings receive red accents and there could be a front splitter as well.

Apart from that, the headlamps too come with revised appearance. At the side profile, the sedan gets sporty alloy wheels, sharp character lines, blackened glass area. We might see sporty body decals there as well. Apart from that, there would be red brake calipers, side skirts and red painted ORVMs.

Moving to the back, there would be a bold spoiler and redesigned taillight and bumper. Inside the cabin, Tigor Sport gets red accents on various places. The steering wheel, gear lever and seats feature red contrast stitching. There will be a dual-pod instrument cluster. Also black theme combined with red accents enhances its visual appeal. However, space remains same inside the cabin.

On the powertrain front, Tigor Sport would carry the same engine options as the regular model, but they will be re-tuned to churn out more power and torque output. The 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol engine could produce 110 hp of peak power and 170 Nm of peak torque. Also, a new transmission could be introduced to the Tigor Sport. So far, Tata Motors and Jayem Automotive are leaving no stones unturned in order to make the car appealing.

Tata 45X Premium Hatchback

Tata Motors is coming out of its stereotype and producing some very attractive cars for Indian market in recent times. After the cars like Tata Tiago, Tata Tigor, Tata Hexa crossover and the Tata Nexon compact SUV; the automaker is also working on a premium hatchback. The upcoming premium hatchback is internally codenamed as 45X. Upon its launch, it will lock horns with the Maruti Suzuki Baleno and Hyundai Elite i20. Its concept recently breaks cover in India at 2018 Autp expo.

Recent trend in Indian market shows, the customers in the country are keen toward premium cars. The small car market being the holder of largest share in our country, automakers are trying to offer more premium features in the hatchbacks to grab attention. Here come the premium hatchbacks with attractive design and upmarket features, offering the customers more than just a medium of regular commuting. The popularity of Maruti Suzuki Baleno and Hyundai Elite i20 just proves, how buying preference of the customers have changed here.

The Tata Motors is eyeing to grab a good share in the premium hatchback segment and the 45X will be their bet to attract the customers. It will be designed with inputs from Tata’s three design studios; based in Pune, UK and Italy. Also, the Jaguar Land Rover will give its valuable input in designing the car. It could incorporate the Impact design language and will be built on all-new lightweight Advanced Modular Platform (AMP).

Being the rival of the Maruti Suzuki Baleno, the upcoming Tata 45X premium hatchback is expected to receive plenty of upmarket features inside the cabin. It will surely offer generous amount of space and comfort to the occupants; while in terms of features it could get an attractive infotainment system, high quality materials and also it is likely to come incorporating latest technologies as well.

On powertrain front, the Tata 45X is supposed to receive both petrol and diesel engine options. Expect the engines to deliver generous amount of power and they are likely to come fuel efficient as well. The petrol engine could come mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox and an AMT as well. If offered with an automatic transmission, it will surely become one of the most attractive models in the segment. On diesel front, the engine could be paired with a 6-speed manual gearbox.

Tata Motors C-Segment sedan

Tata Motors is slowly revamping its entire product lineup. The Tiago hatchback was the first all new product from the Indian manufacturer and then followed up wth Hexa, Tigor and Nexon. Tata Motors is also developing two premium suv’s based on H5X concepts. The company is also developing a new sedan for India and global market. The upcoming sedan could be based on EVision concept which made its debut at Geneva Motor Show last month.

The design of EVision concept is futuristic with small headlamps and wider grille which merges with the headlamp cluster. The front bumper is sporty in design with aluminium skid plates at front. The side design is sleek and the door handles are mounted on the body and pop out like those on Range Rover Velar. The design of rear continues the sporty theme from front with smaller tail lamps.

The interior of EVision concept continue the futuristic theme from outside. The three spoke steering wheel with multi-function controls and the company has given fully digital instrument cluster. The touch screen infotainment system pop up and details of battery and hybrid system is display on the dashboard. To give premium feel, Tata Motors have given lots of wood across the dashboard. We hope that Tata Motors put forward this new design theme to production model.

Tata EVision concept is based on OMEGA EV platform and the company hasn’t released details about specification but the EVision concept can do 0-100 kph in 7 sec and top speed is 200 kph. But the production will be powered by diesel and petrol engines. We are expecting Tata Motors to use current set of engines from Nexon for the production model. These engines will get the option of manual and automatic transmission.

The production version of EVsion concept is expected to make its debut next year and it will compete against Honda City, Hyundai Verna and Maruti Suzuki Ciaz.

Tata H5X

The SUV is codenamed as the H5X unveiled recently at 2018 Auto Expo in concept form. Expected to be launched in early 2019, the Tata H5X is likely to sport a very attractive and global design. It will incorporate a new design language, inspired by the Land Rover Discovery Sport.

The Tata H5X will share the Land Rover Discovery Sport’s L550 platform as well. Upon its launch, it will be positioned above the Tata Hexa, which is ready to launch in January next year. The floor-pan of L550 platform will be used by the H5X, but it will be tweaked to give a different look. Also, the Tata H5X’s body shell is supposed to come built with high strength steel and lightweight aluminum, similarly like the Land Rover Discovery Sport.

The upcoming H5X could bear some design elements from Tata Hexa as well. Therefore it will come very muscular looking from all the corners. It could get a large bold front grille, sharp headlamps, beefy bumper, skid plate. At side profile too, the H5X is likely to come with sporty and muscular alloy wheels. So far, the upcoming SUV may incorporate a blend of both Hexa and current Safari’s design with additional distinctive features.

Inside the cabin too, we may see several design elements and components shared with the Hexa. Expect plenty of space and premium features inside cabin. Also, it could borrow advanced technologies from the Land Rover Discovery Sport, which will surely enhance the Tata flagship SUV’s appeal further.

The Tata H5X premium SUV would be powered by a Fiat sourced 2.0-litre Multijet diesel engine under the hood, which will be capable to produce around 172 PS of peak power. For transmission duty, it would get a 6-speed manual gearbox and an automatic unit as well. Expect it to be priced between Rs. 17 lakh and Rs. 24 lakh (ex-showroom, New Delhi).

Tata Tiago JTP

The Tiago is one of the most popular hatchback in its segment. Tata Motors is building on its success story by introducing a new performance variant of Tiago. The company has tied up with Coimbatore based Jayem Automotive to introduce Tiago JP and the production model was showcased at 2018 Auto Expo.

Tata Tigao JP gets black honeycomb front grill with JTP logo, smoked projector headlamps and air-vents. The front bumper has been redesigned to give a sporty look along with a new black finish with honeycomb structure given for air-intakes and fog lamp housing.

On the side, Tata Motors has given body skits and 15 inch diamond cut alloy wheels wrapped in 185/60 tyres. The rear get integrated spoiler, new diffuser along with redesigned bumper and dual chrome finished sporty exhaust system. The Tiago JP also gets black finish for the roof and shark fit antenna to continue the sporty theme.

On the inside, Tata Motors have given black finish for the interior and the only change compared to regular model is the leather wrap given for the steering wheel and aluminium finish for the pedals. But we can expect a new touch screen infotainment system and updated upholstery for the seats.

Tata Tiago JP is powered by 1.2 L turbocharged Revotron engine from Nexon and this engine produces 108 hp of bhp of power at 5,000 rpm and 150 Nm of torque between 1,750 rpm – 5,000 rpm. This engine is mated to 5 speed manual gearbox.

We can expect the engine to be tuned for performance and drive select option will be also included. The suspension is tuned towards improving handling and traction around corners. Tata Motors is expected to launch Tiago JP later this year and it doesn’t have a direct rival now but it will compete against Maruti Suzuki Baleno RS.

Tata H7X

tata h7xAs Tata Motors is aiming to strengthen its grip in the UV segment, the homegrown auto major is working on two new SUVs and one of them is codenamed as the H7X. This premium SUV is all set to be launched in the country in 2019 and it will lock horns with rivals like Jeep Compass. Expect the car to be priced at around Rs. 20 lakh (ex-showroom, New Delhi).

Based on the H5X 5 seater premium SUV, The Tata H7X will not only sport a stylish and appealing design, it will also boast a range of advanced and upmarket features. Tata H7X will be based on the Land Rover Discovery’s L550 platform. Also, the upcoming SUV takes design cues and technologies from JLR engineers and cars. However, there will be Tata’s own design theme to make the car unique.

Tata H7X will be carrying the Impact 2.0 design language. It would sport sharp projector headlamps with integrated LED daytime running lights. There will be a large front grille similar to the Tata Hexa. A chunky and muscular bumper will be there with blackened central air intake and fog lamps at both ends. A thick skid plate will be there as well.
Moving to the side profile, Tata H7X will have sporty and large alloy wheels, subtle yet sharp character lines.

Other design elements will include sporty roof rails, blackened and large glass area, panoramic sunroof, roof spoiler, wraparound sleek LED taillights and a beefy bumper with rear skid plate. Inside the cabin, the car would share features with Tata Hexa. Expect it to get a large touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It will surely ensure petty good comfort with ample space.

On the powertrain front, Tata H7X SUV will come powered by a 2.0-litre Multijet II diesel engine sourced from Fiat. This engine will be able to churn out around 170 hp of peak power in the H7X, while torque amount too will be pretty good. Apart from that, expect the car to generate impressive fuel efficiency as well. Transmission options will include both manual and automatic gearbox.

Tata Zest Facelift

Tata Motors is working on a facelift version of the Zest compact sedan. This car is expected to come sporting a more contemporary and stylish appearance in its refreshed avatar. The interior of the compact sedan is also likely to receive some updates. It could launch sometime during second half of 2017. Presently the Tata Zest comes priced between Rs. 5.15 and Rs. 8.60 (ex-showroom, New Delhi). The facelift version could come bit pricier and it would be available between Rs. 5.5 lakh and 9 lakh (ex-showroom, New Delhi).

In terms of looks, the Tata Zest has received a mixed reaction from customers. While many people liked it, many didn’t like it as well. But the practicality of this car cannot be denied at all. In the facelifted version, the Zest is about to become more stylish and could don a premium look compared to the existing model. So far, it could get a revised front fascia and refreshed interior too. Tata Motors’ new Impact design language is likely to be incorporated in upcoming Zest facelift.

Dimensionally, upcoming Tata Zest facelift will remain identical to the current model. Therefore, space inside the cabin will remain unchanged. The 2017 Tata Zest could get some additional features, which will enhance the appeal and make it better value for money. The new features could include push start button, a new navigation system, reverse parking camera, keyless entry along with the improved seat and upholstery material.

On the powertrain front, the Tata Zest facelift could retain same engines like the existing model. Therefore, the power source for this car will be a 1.2-litre Revotron turbocharged petrol engine, kicking out 91 PS of peak power. This engine comes with multi-drive modes, which are – City, Performance and Economy. For transmission duty, the petrol variant Zest gets a 5-speed manual gearbox, while an AMT will be on offer as well.

Speaking about the diesel variant Tata Zest facelift, it gets a 1.3-litre Multijet turbocharged engine under the hood. This engine comes with two different states of tune, which are 76 PS and 91 PS. Transmission duty is done by a 5-speed manual gearbox and an AMT as well. Expect both the petrol and diesel engines to come with improved fuel efficiency. The Tata Zest has earned 4-star safety rating in Global NCAP crash test. The upcoming facelift version is likely to come with even better safety.

Tata Pelican

Tata Nano is not a profitable car for the Indian automaker. It has even been at the centre of recent controversy in Tata Group. But, the small hatchback is certainly one revolutionary car in the world auto industry. It was launched as the most affordable and cheapest car of the world. Tata has been very passionate about this car, which is the reason behind not shutting the project despite heavy losses.

The automaker is currently working on an all new Nano, which will be christened as the Pelican upon its launch. It is based on the Nano Europa concept, showcased at the 2009 Geneva Motor Show. The test mules of Tata Pelican have been spotted couple of times on Indian roads. It could launch in the domestic market sometime during next year.

The Tata Pelican can be easily recognized as a refreshed Nano. Despite bearing the similar silhouette, the upcoming Pelican sports distinctive styling elements. It gets new wraparound headlamps, while the front and rear bumpers of this car are similar to the Tata GenX Nano. It runs on 13-inch wheels, which are bigger than the GenX Nano’s 12-inch wheels. Apart from that, the test mules were spotted with single wiper with double arm, windshield washer jet mounted on the small hood.

The upcoming Tata Pelican is likely to receive an upmarket interior. It could get some features from the GenX Nano, while the instrument cluster could come in a new guise. Also, it could sport a Tata Tiago like centre console and a Harman developed music system will certainly make it more appealing.

For power source, the upcoming Tata Pelican is supposed to rely on an 800 cc three-cylinder petrol engine. This engine will churn out power output between 60 PS and 70 PS. Transmission duty could be done by a 5-speed manual gearbox, while an optional AMT could also be there.
