Maruti is expected to launch the Ertiga Sport later this year and it will be sold via premium Nexa dealerships across India
Maruti Suzuki is planning to expand the variant lineup of Ertiga and the new model is likely to be christened as Ertiga Sport. The upcoming model is expected to be introduced later this year and it will be sold through premium Nexa dealerships as the company currently sell the regular model via Arena dealerships.
The new variant comes with minor changes as the front get new grille along with updated bumper at the front and rear. The changes to the side are limited to new alloy wheels, which looks sporty compared to the current ones. The company hasn’t made any changes to the rear except for tweaked tail lamps and the MPV comes with an integrated spoiler.
Maruti might offer the Ertiga Sport with some new exterior colour changes. The interior has more changes compared to the exterior as the beige colour theme of the regular model could be replaced by an all-black interior, which increases the sporty look. One of the biggest change in Ertiga Sport will be the number of seats.
The company will only offer 6-seats instead of 7 on the current model as the Individual captain seats for the second row is expected to be comfortable than the bench seat on the regular model. Apart from this, Maruti could offer more premium features in the Ertiga Sport and it might be introduced in a single top-spec variant.
The Ertiga Sport will be packed with features like touch screen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, climate control, second and third row AC vents, reverse camera with parking sensors, automatic headlamps, rain sensing wiper, alloy wheels, electronically controlled exterior mirrors and more.
The safety features on Ertiga Sport include dual airbags, ABS with EBD, speed alert, driver and passenger seat belt alert and more. The Ertiga Sport might be offered only with a petrol engine as the newly developed 1.5 L unit puts out 105 PS and this engine will be mated to 5-speed manual gearbox. The Ertiga Sport will be priced slightly higher than the regular model.
