Mahindra will launch a series of SUVs over the next 12 months and here we have explained about five of them in detail

The homegrown carmaker Mahindra & Mahindra has been on roll for the past few years and has been consistently delivering great products one after the other. The all-new Thar, the XUV700, the Scorpio-N and the XUV400 of the recent past have helped Mahindra garner a good amount of attention. There are more SUVs waiting in the brand’s pipeline:

1. Mahindra Bolero Neo Plus

Essentially an updated version of the erstwhile TUV 300 Plus, the Bolero Neo Plus will have a few cosmetic upgrades over the Bolero Neo. In the 9-seater version, the Bolero Neo plus will have 2 seats at the front, a bench in the middle which can sit 3 and then 2 side-facing seats at the back which can seat 2 people each.

A few extra features can be offered on the inside and reports say that it might continue with the same 1.5-litre engine while some rumours suggest it will get the 2.2-litre mHawk. It should be launched in a couple of months.

2. Mahindra Thar 5-door

The Thar in itself is a popular product in India but to oomph it up more, Mahindra is going to introduce a 5-door Thar. Apart from the obvious visual appeal, it will bring in, the practicality element will also be improved with extra space. The 5-door Thar will also get petrol and diesel options with MT/AT. It will be launched by 2024 and unveil could happen later this year.

3. New-Gen Bolero

Mahindra’s best-selling product, the Bolero is due for a big update. We do expect a new design both on the outside and inside aimed at making it more desirable to a larger audience. It should launch sometime next year.

4. New XUV500

Mahindra dumped the XUV500 moniker and chose to name the Z601 model, the XUV700, indicating a step up in the league and the quality of the product offered. With that move, Mahindra is going to use the XUV500 badge which has a lot of value and credibility and will build a car with that name to compete with the likes of the Hyundai Creta and the Kia Seltos in a segment below. Expect a new design, more features and aggressive pricing when it goes on the floor in 2024.

5. Mahindra XUV700 electric

The flagship Mahindra SUV will undergo electrification and be ready for launch in 2024. It will be based on the XUV.e8 concept which the brand unveiled earlier. While not much is yet known about this car, it might have a newer design, a few additional features to the already extensive feature list and is rumoured to have a battery pack of about 70 kWh offering a minimum range of 500 km and a power output of 350 bhp. The price is expected to start between 20-25 lakh.
