Hero Passion iSmart

The Hero Passion has been a very practical and popular commuter since it was launched in 2001, as the Hero Honda Passion though. Now with more than one and half decades passed, the bike is being sold as Hero passion Pro with little bit of makeover. In a steep competitive market, the sales figure for the bike is dropping.

No wonder, the 100cc commuter segment is one of the most congested and competitive segment in the Indian motorcycle market. Hero MotoCorp being as the leading manufacturer of entry level commuter motorcycles couldn’t afford to let loose the grip. The company has taken an unique strategy to give its regular motorcycles a touch of new technology.

The two wheeler manufacturer is readying the Hero Passion Pro iSmart, which comes with the company’s patented i3S technology. This technology helps in saving fuel, and therefore emitting less pollutant in the environment. The technology enables the motorcycles engine to shut down automatically while the motorcycle is in idle mode. The engine can be switched on with the clutch being pressed.

The Hero MotoCorp has already started dispatching the hero Passion Pro iSmart to the dealerships, and the sales is expected to begin soon. With the passion Pro enabled with new i3S technology the sales figure is expected to get a boost. And with a launch during the festive season is making the hero MotoCorp pretty much hopeful about the Passion Pro iSmart’s Success.

Apart from the new technology the commuter motorcycle is expected to get a new body decal, while other changes are unlikely. On the mechanical front as well, the motorcycle retains the same 97.2cc engine mated to a 4-speed transmission. The engine churns out 8.20BHP of peak power at 8,000RPM and 8.05NM of peak torque at 5,000RPM, while the fuel economy stands at 84kmpl.

Hero Super Splendor iSmart

Hero Splendor has been the best selling motorcycle series in the Indian market for quite long time. With so many competitors in the 100cc to 125cc commuter segment, the Splendor series has remained unbeatable in motorcycle segment. The Hero MotoCorp earlier introduced the i3S technology to the Splendor 100cc motorcycle in 2014.

Earlier this year, the two wheeler manufacturer replaced the 100cc commuter with the 110cc Splendor, which came equipped with i3S technology. Now the company is also planning to introduce the iSmart tech to the 125cc Super Splendor, which has become quite popular in the Indian market. Introduction of the i3S tech to the Super Splendor will enhance the appeal of the motorcycle further.

The Hero Super Splendor iSmart commuter motorcycle has been already dispatched to the dealerships. Expect the model to launch sometime soon during festive season. The model comes powered by a 125cc single-cylinder, air-cooled, four-stroke engine. Mated to a 5-speed transmission, the engine churns out 9BHP of peak power at 7,000RPM, and the motorcycle delivers a fuel economy of 65kmpl.

Expect the motorcycle to come featuring a new instrument cluster, while the new colour theme could also make its way into the model. Apart from that any other change is unlikely to come in the Hero Super Splendor iSmart. The Super Splendor is already popular model in the Splendor series. No wonder, the iSmart technology will give the model a sales boost.

The Hero Super Splendor gets 130mm drum brakes at both the wheels as standard. The Super Splendor was first introduced in 2005, and it has been one of the long standing popular models from the two wheeler manufacturer.

Hero Glamour iSmart

Hero Glamour is one motorcycle, which gave the Hero MotoCorp desired sales boost and profits in recent times. Earlier this year, the sporty looking 125cc commuter motorcycle became the bestselling model in the country. The Hero Glamour surpassed the Honda CB Shine in the highly contested 125cc segment. And now the Hero MotoCorp is gearing up to give the model a touch of new technology.

The Hero Glamour is expected to get the iSmart technology and the new model will launch in Indian market soon. No wonder, the new technology will make the already popular model much more appealing. The Glamour gets a very attractive design, which makes it look sculpted, and sporty. Expect the same design to be retained along with some new styling touches.

The Hero Glamour gets power from a 124.7cc single-cylinder, air-cooled, four-stroke engine. Paired with a 4-speed transmission, this engine churns out 8BHP of peak power at 7,000RPM and 10.35NM of peak torque at 4,000RPM. The motorcycle delivers 55kmpl of impressive fuel economy. With the i3S technology the bike will come saving more fuel.

The Hero Glamour comes with analog-digital combo instrument console, ASFS advanced swirl flow induction system. On the braking front the model comes featuring 130mm drum brakes at both the front and rear wheels, while there is a front disc brake variant of the motorcycle available as well.

On the suspension front the motorcycle sports front telescopic fork, while at rear it features swing arm with hydraulic shock absorber.

New Hero Achiever (Possibly iSmart Equipped)

It is no surprising fact that, the Hero MotoCorp is at the leading position in the Indian motorcycle market with its range of commuter motorcycles. Indian customers at large love to buy the commuter motorcycles with engine displacements between 100cc to 150cc. The Hero Achiever is one of the popular models from the two-wheeler manufacturer in the country with a 150cc engine.

The 150cc commuter is expected to receive a new guise soon, which will launch in few months. It is not clear, whether the upcoming Achiever will get the iSmart technology like its 110cc and 125cc siblings, but if the Hero MotoCorp considers introducing the i3S technology to the motorcycle, that could be USP of this 150cc bike.

The Hero Achiever presently takes power from a 149.1cc single-cylinder, air-cooled, four-stroke OHC engine. The engine is mated to a 5-speed transmission and churns out around 13BHP of peak power at 8,000RPM and 13NM of peak torque at 5,000RPM. The fuel economy for the model stands at 58kmpl, which is pretty impressive.

The Hero Achiever gets a 12 litre fuel tank, which enables with a cruising range of around 696 kilometers, and the top speed of this motorcycle is 111kmph. Mechanically, the Hero Achiever comes equipped with telescopic hydraulic fork at the front. While, the rear of the Achiever comes with rectangular swing arm with adjustable hydraulic shock absorber. On the braking front the model gets a disc brake at front and a drum brake at rear wheel.

With the new Hero Achiever, we might expect new colour options. The design of the model is unlikely to get a change, though a subtle change in design could be pretty much appreciated. Mechanically, the upcoming model is unlikely to get any change. Introducing the iSmart technology to the new model will enhance the appeal of the model further.

Hero Dare 125cc Scooter

Hero MotoCorp showcased the Dare 125cc scooter at the 2014 New Delhi Auto Expo. The scooter is expected to launch during this festive season. The upcoming Hero scooter looks pretty muscular in design, and it would surely attract the customers, as the scooter market in India is giving the motorcycle segment a very tough competition.

The Hero Dare scooter will take power from a 124.6cc single-cylinder, air-cooled OHC engine. This engine will churn out 9.38BHP of peak power at 7,500RPM and 9.8NM of peak torque at 6,500RPM. The scooter would come equipped with 200mm disc brake at the front wheel, while the rear wheel will get 130mm drum brake doing the braking duty.

On the suspension front, the Hero Dare 125cc scooter will get telescopic fork, while the rear will sport single hydraulic shock absorbers. The scooter will be able to hit a top speed of 110kmph. Dimensionally, the Hero Dare 125cc scooter likely to come measuring 1,820mm in length, 975mm in width, 1,180mm in height and a ground clearance of 155mm. The 114kg weighing scooter will also get a 6 litre fuel tank.

As the Hero MotoCorp showcased the dare 125cc scooter at the 2014 New Delhi Auto Show, the scooter comes with a muscular design. The front cowl gets large and wide headlamps sitting at the front cowl, while the side turn indicators are positioned as lengthy strips. With one short look, the scooter reminds us about the Yamaha Ray Z.
